( Prologue )
A) Anywhere
[Two weeks later, Kenya still feels as empty, as moments after his father dissolved their bond. Everything that happened afterwards is a blur, from how the man who had once been his father, staggered away, the once sure step swayed with loss, to Kenya's own dizzy journey back to the dormitory, where he collapsed on the bed. He doesn't know if anybody saw them, or if any of the teachers, or the principal have been notified of this, by his family, or by someone else, but since Oshitari Eishi likes to have his ducks in order, he assumes at least the headmistress would know. There's of course the question of the financial backing as well, the thing that hurts the most, but is the most pressing.
He can be found frequently heading to or from the headmistress' office, either deep in thought, or an expression on his face, that most would describe as "heart breaking". Personally, he just feels empty. Considering how high he usually is on life, people might be worried enough to inquire. There ought to be a rumor mill spinning already as well, which - for once - he doesn't care about.]
B) Dormitory
[When Kenya is tired of nosy people, who can't mind their own business, or friends, who are a treasure, but kill him with their worry, he pulls the curtains of his bed tightly together and hides beneath the covers. His ability to transform himself and fly away is temporarily blocked by the anguish he feels, so that's not an option. He always imagined freedom to feel different, but maybe someone needs to show him that it can be a good thing? Every cloud, no matter how dark, has a silver lining, after all.]
