8th | Silent rage
Near the gates to Hogsmeade
[There had been no warning. One moment he had been strolling around as a Fennec Fox to relax and the next he was lying on the ground, back as a human being. The shock of the sudden transformation made Shiraishi panic, but he was given enough time to recover and get back to his feet by whoever cast the spell on him. Not that he needed to guess who it was. Shiraishi took his wand out and pointed it straight at the man behind him, yelling 'Everte Statum'. Unfortunately, it was dodged and Shiraishi was met with a Jelly-Legs curse in return.]
That's a pretty childish spell, dad...
Only fitting to be used on a child like you. [The man was, indeed, Akihiko Shiraishi, the current head of the Shiraishi family that Kura was meant to inherit.] I'm tired of your games. It's time you grew up and took responsibility.
And I'm tired of you not listening to me, when I'm saying I don't-
Do not speak back to me, Kuranosuke.
[Shiraishi gritted his teeth. This was how it always went. His father never listened. Never in his life. Why must he be like this?]
Everte Statum!
[Shiraishi recast the spell he used before and this time succesfully hit his father and sent him flying backwards. Then he quickly used a counter spell on his legs and started to make a run for it but before he could, he was hit by spell in return. It was once again directed at his legs but this time it was meant to break them, causing Shiraishi to yelp in pain and fall back to the ground.]
Expelliarmus. [Any chance of a counter-attack went away with his wand. There was clear silent rage in the expression of Akihiko.] If you would just obey, I wouldn't need to be like this.
... if you'd just listen--
Silencio. That's better. It will make this trip a lot more doable.
[The only reply Shiraishi was able to come up with was an icy glare, which quickly turned into pained sorrow. The whole situation felt hopeless.]
Hospital Wing
[As luck would have it, Shiraishi's father was stopped from taking his son away. Unfortunately there was no quick way of repairing his legs so he was forced to stay in the hospital wing. Which was fine with him, since at least he was still at Hogwarts. Miserable, but still there.]
(ooc: after this event things will start looking better for him, I promise.)

Near the gates
Pulling out her wand she was quick to use a spell.]
Expelliarmus!
[She made sure she aimed at the right person before moving to stand between the father and son, clearly not amused with the situation.]
I would like to ask what you think you are doing?!
no subject
This is something between me and my son. He has disobeyed me for too long and now he's facing the consequences.
no subject
[By which she means if you try anything she will get in the way again.]
no subject
[It seems sympathy and empathy are unknown for this man.]
But I would rather not fight with you so I will have to simply come again on another time.
no subject
[She crossed her arms over her chest wand still firmly in her hand for the time being.]
I very much doubt you'll be allowed to come back.
no subject
[That's all he has to say in that as he takes the wand he lost earlier and starts to walk away from the gates, to get far enough to actually apparate away.
Shiraishi on the other hand looks relieved that he left but... also rather miserable. Since he knows his dad would be persistent.]
no subject
Let's get to the hospital wing.
[She goes to see if he needs help up at least.]
Also...if you ever want to talk to him again we can make arrangements so there is always a professor with you.
no subject
Thank you, professor... unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to walk by myself.
[He eyes at his legs which are very painful. No wonder if your bones were broken.]
I'll have to see... what solution I can come up with.
no subject
[She makes sure to help him, by letting him use her if needs be. After all she was pretty sure she couldn't carry him like others would be able to.]
I'm sure whatever you can come up with doesn't end like this.

Hospital Wing
[ Adela comments while walking towards the bed, frowning at Shiraishi before she sits at the end of it. Honestly, poor guy...
She has to avert her eyes, expression becoming more solemn as she slumps a little. ]
It took a lot of prodding, but I found out what happened. How bad's the damage?
no subject
[There's a light smile. He's glad to see Adela, and he'd rather smile for her than look as grumpy as he did.]
I should be back by Monday... so I'll be able to practice before the game.
no subject
[ She can't bring herself to return the smile. She looks at him again, a little calmer to see him smiling because it means things are at least a little better, aren't they? Well, she can hope... ]
It's stupid, but I just wish I was there for you Shiraishi. It feels like I could have said or done something to make things turn out differently -- even if I probably couldn't have.
no subject
Thank you for the thought... but I'm glad you didn't get involved. My dad can be a pain, so things could have been a mess.
[... well, more of a mess than it already was.]
no subject
[ Adela sighs hard again, shaking her head and lowering her gaze to the floor. ]
I'm still wondering what kind of reasoning someone could give to themselves to make it all right to curse their own child. It's just wrong, regardless the reason.
no subject
[He also comments that he hasn't even been a member of the team for that long, but that's not relevant.]
Well, at least this cures quite fast and was rather obvious... it's my cousin who got it worse. Though it seems he's getting back on his feet.
[Shiraishi shakes his head.]
My dad and his aren't even brothers and they're still annoyingly similar.
no subject
... Wait, you don't mean Sousuke?
[ Well that's definitely news to her. There's really only one person whose situation is even remotely similar to what she's heard about with what happened to Shiraishi. ]
no subject
[Honestly, Shiraishi was surprised Sousuke even visited the Hospital Wing (handwavedly cause same mun) after this ordeal. But that's how he heard about the whole curse thing.]

Hospital Wing (+ a bit of gates)
Stop that!
[It sort of derails after that, but thankfully, professor Domino appears fast enough to prevent the worst and soon Madame is nursing them in the hospital wing. Kenya got away mostly scot free, with just three cuts across his face, but Kura is a little worse off. Kenya sighs and resists the urge to scratch at the ointment on his cheeks, as he sits in a chair next to Kura's bed.]
That went well.
[Not to mention the juicy threats that Shiraishi senior sent Kenya's way. Safe to say there will be at least a Howler arriving in the nearest future.]
But at least he'll leave you alone for now.
no subject
Going as far as even injuring Kenya. Shiraishi clenched his hands into fists as he looked away from his best friend.]
... at least for now. He'll have new years to worry about so I doubt he'll be back before next year. [There's a sigh, and he lifts his hand to move some of his hair away from his face.]
I didn't want this.
no subject
I know, Kura. I'm not blaming you.
[He finally focuses back on his best friend, ready to smile and say something stupid to distract them, when Kura's arm comes suddenly into his view and then there's just enough distraction.]
Great gods, what's that?!
[He grabs his friend's hand to pull his arm closer, inspecting what looks like... well, like bit marks.]
no subject
The confusion and anxiety of the situation had him forget the secret he had been protecting, which becomes apparent when Kenya grabs his hand. Even if it had been a while since Niou bit him, there were still small, visible marks on his arm... which of course would be visible to someone like Kenya now, when he was made to keep his bandages off his arm at the hospital wing. Last time he hadn't needed to, since he hadn't been there for that long, so he'd forgotten.]
Just a stupid mosquito bite. You know, one of those late summer ones.
no subject
[Kenya may be an idiot and an airhead at times, but he's not dumb. His blue and bronze tie proves it. And even if it didn't, he has spent the last 17 years of his life living in a hospital (basically). He thinks he can safely recognize a mosquito bite.
He traces his fingers along the outline. He feels like he's seen these before, but not enough times to have them burned into his mind.]
What bit you?
no subject
It's not fair on Kenya to lie. It's not fair on Niou to tell. Of course he didn't need to say who the vampire is, but how long would it take for Kenya to figure that out.]
It's not a big deal. Just leave it.
no subject
My family had me trained to recognize the most simple and common injuries upon first sight basically since I could read. Point being, if I can't place it, it's neither simple nor common, thus making it a very big deal. I'll ask again. What bit you?
no subject
Weiss.
[Ex-fiancees can be scary so maybe that would go through!]
