Hallways

[Naminé isn't sure what started the rumors but she'd begun to notice unfriendly stares from some of the girls in her year. This is her punishment for trying to be less shy. Others students have begun to approach her, some of them with unkind intentions. A few girls crowd around Naminé with their eyes glaring at the blonde haired mousey girl.]

Weren't you the one who won the position of Queen at the dance? Was getting Tamaki not good enough for you?

[They seem upset that the charming french boy isn't around and Namine is receiving their ire. She shakes her head clutching her sketchbook as if it might save her from a confrontation.]

She's just after famous boys. You're a leech. You don't even know who your parents are.

[The girl's voice drips with venom, her eyes glaring at Namine.]

That's not it...

[Namine attempts to protest however her words are drowned out by the girls who continue to back her towards a wall.]

Great Hall/Hufflepuff Common Room

[After running into trouble Namine has returned to her old shy silent ways. She can be found in a corner of the common room or towards the end of the Hufflepuff table in the great hall. She is usually studying or drawing. Her watery blue eyes are always cast downward as if the world around her didn't exist outside of her own little sphere.

She doesn't dare chance looking up, even if her name is called. Her expression looks sad though it's a content sort of sadness as if its something she's used too.]

4th Year Classes

[ Breakfast was probably going to be the only calm time of the day. Along with receiving some mail from home with the morning post, the food was warm and cooked perfectly. Life was finally calming down too, with her social circle somehow repairing itself, her studies improving vastly across the board over the past couple of months, and her nightmares finally beginning to become less frequent. Even the frequency of people bothering her over the dance or the recent Quidditch match had died down.

Things were never that easy though, and it was rare for her life to not have some kind of problem in it.

It seemed like, almost whenever she had a break from classes and wasn't in the great hall for meals or on the Quidditch Pitch for practice, Adela was nowhere to be found. In some darker and more deserted corners of the school the arguments between her and a 5th year Slytherin boy were getting worse. Why did she hang out with certain parties. Why wasn't he good enough. Why she thought she could just not give him a chance at all. As the weather got warmer, the disputes got worse – bad enough to make Adela start to arrive to her classes late.

It was another such day, where the girl was flushed and panting from trying to reach the class on time only to fail. Her shoulders and arms being sore (and, though no one could see it, bruised) was nothing compared to all the staring she got when she knocked on the door and opened it, clearly humiliated that she was late because of that jerk again. It was her own fault though, letting herself get cornered like that... ]

I'm sorry I'm late.

[ She bowed her head as she stood in the doorway, wishing dearly that she wouldn't have to hear anyone whispering or laughing at her expense over it. She'd probably get a lecture if she was lucky, or more likely detention and loss of house points. The blow to her pride any of it would cause was probably the worst part about it all though. ]

Quidditch Pitch, Practice

[ At last, she was more at ease in the air again. Maybe it really was because of the fact that she wasn't alone, but having heard that the hawk hadn't made a reappearance after that one week helped a lot. It felt like she could actually have fun with practice again, and was more excited at the prospect of playing more games even if their next one might not be for a while.

Whenever there was a rest period during or at the end of practice though, Adela was seated and rubbing one shoulder, then the other. Upper body training was difficult, and she thought she was getting stronger, but it still wasn't enough. Sano seemed to be particularly intent on making sure she didn't overwork her shoulders for some reason, and of course she still practiced with her kicks and leg strength because those were vital to keep up as well.

Well... No one had to know that it wasn't only muscle training bothering her. It'd be better if they didn't. At least practice was done for the day and she could probably sleep well that night. It was only when someone approached that she stopped what she was doing, looking up at them and nodding to greet them. ]

Hey. What's up?

[ That person had to want something from her then, right? ]

[[OoC: Noting that she's still outside on the pitch at this time so anyone can bother her here.]]

Hallways/Grounds, Late Night

[ Well, she didn't go right to bed every night. In fact, now that it was warmer out, Adela was resuming a rather old habit of hers, one that she was rarely caught in.

As quietly as she could she sneaked around the halls, her broom in tow as she watched and listened for any sign of the teachers. It wasn't like she was planning mischief, far from it; usually she only did this on Friday or Saturday nights when the sky was clear, just so that it wouldn't jeopardize her waking late the next morning and missing a class or something. The night was clear though, and it'd been a long time. That, and because it was the dead of night there was no way that damn hawk would be around.

If she could get outside successfully, that would be when she'd take into the air on her broom and fly up to one of the less steep roofs. Once there she'd dismount, holding her broom beside her and laying there to look up at the stars with a peaceful smile on her face. If she had remained in the muggle world she likely would have tried to get into astronomy, she thought to herself. It was always so pretty, and so calming to look at. Like the stars themselves, they made her feel like her problems were a million miles away. It let her think about nicer things, or even just let her think about nothing at all.

Now, the real question; would someone catch her up there, or would she even get that far without interruption? ]

Outside, Courtyards, Lawns

[It's spring! You can feel it in the air and in the warm rays of the Sun, when the spring inevitably draws closer, the long nights fading, giving space for more sunshine. Whenever Equinox passes, Yogi feels the energy returning to him, that had recessed in winter. It's time for new life to spring from the dead cold ground, and thus, one late March morning finds Yogi up early, starting on his spring gardening project, that he did each year. Planting flower seeds of Daffodils, Tulips and Hyacinths in about every lawn that Hogwarts had, he can barely wait until they bloomed into an explosion of a million colors.]

Inside, Anywhere, Hufflepuff Common Room, Great Hall

[After the work is done, or when the breaks for food roll around, Yogi finally sits down and enjoys a quiet moment. Usually he's back in the sunlit, cozy common room, freshly showered and smelling of roses, or in his favorite chair in the Great Hall. When he's rested enough - usually after about five minutes pass - he pulls out his journal (which is addressed to his cat, and starts writing again.]

Dear Nyanperowna,

After Spring arrived last week, today I found the time to plant the Spring flowers. I can barely wait 'till they bloom!

[He pauses to look at his words, then continues to write, much in the same manner as before, pouring his feelings out.]

Great Hall

[Naminé has had a few strange conversations lately and she isn't exactly sure what to think. She's slowly breaking away from depending on her sister but she finds she misses Kairi's comfort. At the same time she doesn't want to keep bothering her with her uncertainties. She's had her first fight with the person she'd now easily call her best friend and some of those she'd call friends have been acting odd, or maybe she's the one who's odd.

She's sitting at the Hufflepuff table lost in her thoughts as she picks at her meal. It's Sunday so she doesn't have to worry about classes but she knows she probably shouldn't linger to long. Her fork lightly picks at a piece of sausage though she's yet to eat anything.]

Court Yard

[Slowly as the weather warms Naminé can be found outside with her sketchpad in her lap. There is an array of watercolors at her side and for the first time she isn't drawing a person but a landscape. A few times she flips to a clean page to test out a texture making sure it's perfectly right before moving back to her picture.]

Hmmm... [She hums softly, pulling a small sponge from her art bag.] Let's use this.

[She lightly dabs the sponge and then pats the page before picking her brush back up. Each texture and each color is expertly chosen which is why she's sitting out in the court yard until the sun begins to set.]

Library

[ Even a week later, it still burned. Detention had gone off without a hitch but that still didn't make her feel any better about the whole thing.

Adela sighed at herself, her hand rising to rub at her temples before she continued to look over the book of complex counter-curses, jinxes, and hexes she had picked up. She had taken up a table to herself, fully intending not to let anyone sit with her as she simply wanted to be left alone then. She still had to be ready next time, because the previous instance... That had been horrible. She never wanted to feel that vulnerable and helpless again.

Even if a lot of those spells looked incredibly complicated. She'd have to find a private spot to practice them, something she noted along with the exact descriptions of each one and how to perform it on the parchment she had beside the book. ]

Quidditch Pitch

[ Several times it had been tempting, but Adela attended every practice she could instead of skipping out in order to avoid certain people. However, anyone watching who knew her would be able to see that something was off.

Any time she'd kick the Quaffle, she'd kick it unusually hard. She was also missing blocking and deflecting the ball with alarming frequency, visibly getting more and more frustrated each time. It eventually got to the point where she just made to land her broom, seat herself on a bench and start taking the keeper equipment off entirely. This was pointless, she couldn't even play her stupid position effectively anymore!? ]

Around

[ When she wasn't studying or failing miserably at Quidditch, Adela could be seen around the school, either wandering aimlessly or hurrying towards a place where she thought no one would bother her. More often than not this meant she was outside, lost in her own thought and not really in the mood to tolerate anyone else's presence. If it weren't for the fact that she had to attend class she'd probably just stay in the dorm room all the time, but making sure she didn't stay in the same spot for long at least should've made it harder for people to track her down.

"Should have" being the operative words, but things never were that simple. ]

[If you wander close enough to the forest you can find a mid-sizes Shiba Inu running around and jumping around, like he's chasing something. Well, he is chasing a bird, but it's all for practice, promise! If looked closely enough, you can notice that the dog has some red on his neck and partially on the back of his head too.

Yeah, it's actually Ittoki, practicing his animagus movements. He's trying to keep himself as away from people as he can so that he won't cause suspicion. No one is supposed to know he's an animagus after all!

If someone does notice him, he will jump into the nearby bush if he's fast enough.]

Dinner in the great hall was not only early, but fairly short. Everyone had to be out of the hall by six so that preparations for the party could be made, and when everyone was allowed back in at the start of the party it had transformed entirely.

The large tables normally used for meals now lined two sides of the great hall, holding a great variety of finger foods, drinks, and desserts that would continuously refill throughout the night. The ceiling above still reflected the night sky, but along its edges and throughout the walls were balloons, ribbons, and flowers of vast variety, with the most numerous of the flowers being white, pink, and red roses. All of of the flowers seemed to be emitting just enough light to effectively illuminate the Great Hall, giving it a - for lack of better term - rosey feel. At one corner near where the staff table normally stood was a group of string instruments, charmed into playing a selection of classical dance music as soon as the first students not involved with set-up stepped into the hall.

That was when Tamaki Suoh, a sixth year student and primary organizer of the dance, appeared at the front of the hall, smiling wide and dressed in an ivory-white tuxedo. He waved his wand briefly before he spoke, his voice magically projected with a charm so that he could be heard above any din that might happen with everyone's arrival.

"Welcome, everyone! I'm pleased to present you with our Hogwarts Valentine's Dance, and I hope you enjoy your time here tonight! Feel free to eat, drink, dance, and be merry in a break from studies and winter cold! Also keep in mind the Dance King and Queen contest, which can be anonymously voted for by you, the students, for the final spotlight dance at midnight tonight, as well as a prize of house points to the winners! Now, let the party begin!"

Prompt 1: Desserts, Drinks, and Wallflowers
Perhaps you're taking a break, enjoying the spread, and watching the other students dancing at various paces in different styles on the floor. Maybe you don't intend to go out onto the floor at all, because the chairs at the sides of the hall are just too comfortable or because you don't want to look like that idiot on the left. You know the one. Either way, congregating at the hors d'oeuvres can be a perfectly acceptable way to pass the night.

Prompt 2: Shut up and Dance
It is a dance party, after all! Grab a partner, whether it's ballroom dancing or just doing your own thing! Granted, the latter might get you some funny looks, but who cares as long as you're having fun? The smell of flowers is quite invigorating, the stars of the enchanted ceiling are above, and there's nothing more important than you and whoever your partner is, whether you know them intimately or have only met them for the first time tonight.

Prompt 3: A Breath of Fresh Air
Maybe the party is a little overwhelming, and you need to step away further from the hall than just sitting near the walls. Although no one is really supposed to leave the dance area for an extended period, who will know if you decide to use the loo as an excuse to get away for a few minutes? Maybe you just want to be somewhere more private, either by yourself or with someone else. Be careful not to get caught though, or it might be detention for you!

Prompt 4: "Love" is in the air?
Uh oh! We have no idea who, but someone seems to have spiked one of the punch bowls with a love potion! This potion is scentless and tasteless, and because the punch bowl is huge (and ever refilling) the effects are, thankfully, greatly weakened in comparison to a normal love potion. This little bit of mischief might result in some of the student body (or even some of the faculty) being a little more openly affectionate than usual with the first person they meet for the night, so a little bit of caution might be necessary. At least it's not at full potency!

Prompt 5: A moment in time that lasts forever!
A professional photographer has been hired to take pictures of students throughout the night! Although it might not be the last memory of the school year, it could be a night you want to cherish forever even if it’s just in a photograph! Is a photo an embarrassing moment or a precious time captured on a special slip of paper?

Prompt 6: Write your own Love Story!
Come up with your own prompts and have a ball AT the ball!

OoC: A note, there will be separate threads for Dance King/Queen contest sign-ups, as well as a contest for best-dressed and an attendance register that will be used to award a door prize drawn by lottery! The prizes are as follows; 50 House Points to 1st place, 25 to 2nd place, and 10 to 3rd place in their respective contests, and a 20 galleon gift receipt for Honeydukes (courtesy of Tamaki pulling some strings with the owner) as a door prize!

There will be a thread below for students to vote on Dance King/Queen, and the best dressed will be decided by members of staff specifically. RNG will be used to determine the door prize. Alright, have fun guys!

A NOTE ABOUT DANCE KING/QUEEN: Although the titles are gendered, who can be entered into each category is not! A boy can be the queen, a girl can be the king, and any combination can happen. The only limitation is that there will be two winners selected from the entrants in the contest!

Valentine’s Quiry | Ravenclaw Common Room or Hallways

[Lately Seth has been running into a few problems. The first of which is that he’s dating someone, which isn’t so much a problem except that it’s quickly approaching Valentine’s Day and he has no idea what to do. For one, Valentine’s Day is about a blood massacre? It’s true that it used to be a celebration, something like a feast, for the all Saint Valentine in the Catholic religion but that still doesn’t equate to love. So he’s missing the point in history when this became a romantic holiday.

However this does explain the red and hearts he sees every February. Now he wishes he asked about it sooner.

Whether in the common room or somewhere within the halls of Hogwarts Seth can be found pacing. One hand scratching the white tuffs of hair behind his head while his mind works over time, he has no idea what people think is romantic. There are so many new things he’s encountering and he’s at a loss at what to do.]

Jealousy? | Great Hall or Before and After Classes

[Another new sensation has begun to bubble and rise within Seth’s slight frame. He’s usually relaxed, frustrating and the sort of person who enjoys pushing buttons or teasing others. Either way, his usual emotional state is either boredom, contentment, or a strange dulled happiness. Now he’s feeling a rainbow of emotions and he has no idea how to handle it.

Seth doesn’t get angry but he’s annoyed and frustrated which is most likely the closest he’ll get to the dark emotion.

He hasn’t been able to really hang out with Rin lately, there was detention and his efforts to join the boy there were useless. As always Rin had Quidditch practice but it doesn’t really feel like they are close there either considering Seth is usually sitting on the stands. Rin also has a lot of friends which means he’s often pulled away and out of sight. Added to the fact that they are in different houses and Seth barely sees him at all. He has no idea what dating someone is supposed to be like be he doesn’t feel like it shouldn’t be like this.

As the first week into the month passes the tension in Seth’s shoulders rise, his pale golden eyes are narrowed in a grumpy stare and most of his answers are short and sharp. He doesn’t mean to be on edge and he feels bad after snapping at people. Seth’s never liked fighting, be it verbally or otherwise.]

FLYING! | Anywhere Outside | Early Morning

[Kotaro has been given permission from his super amazing, super talented, older brother and so he's learning to fly. He has a borrowed broom held eagerly between his fingers. He's suppose to wait for Sano but he knows how to take off from flying classes. He mounts his broom and kicks off hard.

He hovers for a few seconds before leaning forward and urging the broom to follow.

That's when everything went wrong. The broom bucks forward sailing high into the sky with Kotaro along for the ride. He screams, his cries falling further away as the broom flies with a mind of it's own. 50 feet up in the air and Kotaro's grip slips. He falls to the ground his screams echoing around the grounds as the earth approaches at a dangerous rate.]

CAKE! | Great Hall | Later That Day

[Kotaro wouldn't have died from the fall but he does get cake afterwards! Well, he asked for cake which is why he's sitting in the great hall with a fork clasp tightly in his hand. He digs into a large piece of chocolate cake with a wide smile on his lips.

His weakness is desert though he feels bad for upsetting everyone.

He hopes that he's not in trouble or that Jiro hasn't found out the exact details of what happened. He has a feeling that he's going to be yelled at but for now Cake is his main focus.]

[Sometimes, Ittoki would be by himself to work on something in ~secret~ from Tokiya (in a public place, yes...). Today was one of those days. He had a guitar with him and he was singing a song he had started writing some time ago for a girl that he really liked.]

With a full-throttle smile, let’s aim at tomorrow.
Make a 1000% spirited peace sign!

[To rival someone like Tokiya, Ittoki feels like he needed a lot of practice. That's why he sometimes stayed a little longer or came to practice earlier than anyone else. He was flying in the air, making sure he practiced turning especially, since it was a problem for him sometimes.

Sometimes, he imagines Tokiya right there next to him and tried to use that as an inspiration to fly even faster. Although even his imagination had Tokiya winning most of the time... eheh.]

A. Library (or Hufflepuff Common Room, late night)

[ Ugh... How did she manage to do this to herself?

A very, very tired red head had basically all of her texts for her classes out, currently going through her Defence Against the Dark Arts texts and trying to go over her notes. It felt like her brain couldn't catch anything anymore, but she had to keep going or she'd never catch up in time for exams...

So, for the past couple of weeks, Adela had been in the library every day and staying up late in the common room every night just trying to catch up and even cutting out things like practising Quidditch or her regular flights with her owl. It felt like she hardly even slept, and even with that orb from Professor Brandford she was still having trouble with all of it.

She had to pinch herself again to keep from falling asleep on top of her work, trying to go through it once more. She really needed to stop that, if she didn't and it happened in Defence Against the Dark Arts again...

Better not to think about it. Besides, it really was her own fault in the first place. ]

B. Random Girl's Bathroom (or the hallway outside of it)

[ Every so often, whether it was for classes or for meals, Adela was forced to take a break. It was one of those times, and after washing her hands she took it on herself to wash her face as well.

That was about when she got a good look at herself in the mirror, and in spite of herself she huffed a quiet laugh. Wow... She looked terrible.

Maybe she hoped it would help to lessen the effect of her eyes looking so puffy and feeling so tired, but she continued to wash at her face regardless before using her robe to wipe it dry. Granted, that wasn't as easy to do when it got into her hair too, but still. As long as no one bothered her about it she'd be okay. So she'd just make her way out, her bag in tow. Time to get back to it, then... ]

QUIDDITCH PRACTICE OF ANY KIND

[The one thing that Sano liked about January was, that two months after the Quidditch season started, a lot more students started to take interest in it and gathered enough courge to be willing to try. Though sometimes it took a bit of convincing on his part, but if he knew he student wanted to play, he wouldn't give in. Sometimes people needed a little push. So it happens, that he's got some more private lessons than he anticipate, but that's all fine with him. He doesn't mind coaching young talents for future generations of his beloved sport. And even if the skill doesn't come natrally, all you needed was determination and discipline. There's no amount of talent that could measure up to hard work.

Of course he's still coaching the house teams as well, usually during the afternoon. Practice is ain full gear now, with the house cup up and running, the point piling up more rapidly than the coins in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. No matter the weather, Sano's up his broom and instructing the player almost every day now, sometimes even twice a day, yelling out various instructions as he's at it.

It's a wonder no one has found him slumped in his chair in the referee's room, trying to catch his breath yet. The amount of flying is slightly getting to him, but it's still bearable. He's more exhausted than he should be, but he's mostly okay. A few minutes of rest and a goodnight of sleep usually do the trick.]

TIME OFF

[The other thing Sano likes about January is the National Quidditch League. Being a former pro player he's got a free entry to all of his former team's games, along with anyone who's in his company and if he wants to, he can usually convince people to get him free tickets for other games as well. It's not unusual to find him up on a Saturday morning, dressed in his casual robes, heading out of the castle, towards Hogsmead, where he can apparate to whichever stadion the game's held at.

His colleagues and friends usually know what he's up to, since he tends to randomly invite them, in case they feel like seeing a game. He's alwayshappy for company and he won't let anyone, who wants to see a goood game, miss their opportunity. They either meet him up before heading to Hogsmead together, or outside of the village on a designated meeting point.]

A. Quidditch Pitch, Early Morning

It was funny. A conversation with an upperclassman had cheered Adela up enough to let her get more involved with her own life again, rather than to simply exist. Namely, she had decided to head to the Quidditch Pitch in order to watch the teams practising in the early morning.

It was easy to tell that the girl on the side-lines was enamoured, not really thinking about anything at all and instead watching the drills they ran with a rather rare smile on her face. Maybe there were thoughts about her wanting to take part, and she did feel a little envy towards the players on house teams, but for the moment she was content simply to watch. Even if it was cold out. And she couldn't feel the tip of her nose.

...

At least consistently casting the hot-air charm on her sleeves was helping keep her warm?

B. School Grounds, Late Afternoon/Early Evening after classes (save Astronomy) are out for the day

Watching other students practice was all well and good, but there was nothing quite like the thrill of flying on her own broom. The lack of icicles on the roof edges was surprising, but after figuring that someone likely removed them for safety's sake earlier Adela ended up landing in the courtyard, sitting on one of the roofs and watching people walking by or stopping in there. It was so cool to see almost all of Hogwarts covered in a white blanket of snow, quiet and serene even as the sun was beginning to set. Sometimes, just being up there by herself made her forget that she was supposed to dislike the place for the grief it had caused her.

Things almost went south when she saw her broom slipping, but thankfully Adela managed to see it in time in order to catch it by the handle. Unfortunately, the snow further down from her feet and the broom weren't spared from their swift descent to the ground, perhaps barely missing or even landing on a passerby below. At least it was relatively soft?

C. The Great Hall, Hufflepuff Table, Dinner Time/Evening

Though she hadn't hid herself in the library again, the debacle in the courtyard made her just want to avoid everyone. She wasn't meeting anyone's eye, instead just prodding at her food absently and trying to ignore the world around her. It was true that she was actually eating a little more than she had recently, but she was still feeling embarrassed over earlier.

In fact, almost as soon as she could she made to leave the area, fully intending to just head to the Owlry and maybe give Saggia a hug. That was about the one thing that could stand any chance of improving her mood then, because she had had enough of people for one day by that point.
enchantressofore: Thanks to Tarot for the B/W bases! (Thoughts of home)

Library

Aside from attending class and visiting home over the holidays, Adela hadn't been doing much aside from classes and homework. It's hard to care about the latter, about reading, really about anything other than her owl. There are even days when she doesn't go to the owlry, and she almost never went flying together with her owl by that point. Maybe it was because it was too cold, but Adela herself knew that the weather wasn't the reason at all.

It's another day like that, after having returned from the holiday to re-attend class with everyone else. After she's done for the day she's in the library, absently looking through one of the books to see if she'll find anything even remotely interesting. It sort of feels like it's pointless though, all repeats of what she already knows even if she's never picked up the book before in her life. Or, even if there is new information, it's hard to be interested.

Which would mean, in about twenty minutes or so, there was a teenage girl fast asleep in one of those really big comfortable chairs in the library. Wake her up so she doesn't accidentally miss dinner, leave her be, or possibly mess with her while she's asleep?

Well, hopefully it would be the first or the last because the middle option is no way to interact with someone.

[[OoC: It's not great but hey it gets me back here. My excuse for Adela not having been around is that she withdrew big time over the past few months, something which likely needs to stop now. Care to help?]]

A) MORNING: Great Hall - Slytherin Table

[It's Friday morning and Rin is eating his spicy bacon, thinking about everything he has to do today, from Christmas shopping to study the new potion that Prof. Flourite has started with them - you could never do that early enough. He had passed the last test well enough, but it has revealed to him, that he still wasn't as good as he thought he was.

And then he has to go to Hogsmead shopping for presents, because there's no way he can get it all done next time. Besides Quidditch is starting in December, he ought to prepare for that as well. Gryffindor absolutely could not win.

He's torn out of his thoughts by the arrival of the owl post and to his surprise, there's a letter dropped in front of him. One look at the sender has him choking on the bacon one moment, and tearing off the top of the envelope the other. It was rarely that his step parents wrote him - for the obvious reasons of being Muggles - but sometimes they found a way how to deliver a letter to him, usually by someone assisting them.

His eyes skim through the page, a feeling of warmth spreading through him at the familiar handwriting smiling at him. He doesn't even notice how his perpetual frown drops, allowing a rare, unguarded smile settle on his face, as he reads what Russel and Lori wanted to let him know.]

B) DAY: Library - Behind a neat pile of books

[Rin is sitting behind his usual table in the library, a pile of various books on potion ingredients in a neat pile next to him. Let it be said that the 'Draught of Peace' was finnicky to make, but the more he understood the function of the ingredients, the less mistakes he'd make. Powdered Moonstone, Unicorn horn and Porcupine quills are mostly obvious, but the Syrup of Hellebore is tricky, thus there are more than a few Herbology books around him as well.

His quill is twitching as his hand flies over the parchment, taking notes of everything he deems as useful. He's collected over two feet of notes already and they keep coming, black ink painting the parchment with a dense, small script.]

C) AFTERNOON - Outside: Hogsmead, or on his way there

[Rin practically flies, even without his broom underneath him, out of the castle as the last lesson ends, in a hurry to buy at least a few presents before the shops close. Which won't be for another few hours, but still. At least he knows exactly what to buy, which saves him some time as well. It's dark outside already and the freshly fallen snow crunches underneath his feet. It's cold, but the running keeps him warm.]

Aviary

[Have you ever noticed a strange pile of hay in the corner of the aviary? Have you ever wondered why it was there when Owls don't eat hay? It might be made a little more clear when you spot a young man trying to sleep on that pile of hay, shivering slightly from the cold.]

[A - On the Quidditch Pitch]

[Roxas should be doing his homework. But he's not. Instead he's flying around on his broom. There isn't really a point to it. It's not practice or anything, just a chance to clear his head. It's remarkably freeing from the heavy load of knowledge that's been weighing him down since the start of term.

Flying up high he turns sharply in to a steep dive before pulling up before he hit the ground. If he was a seeker, that would be a pretty good Wronski Feint. He ascends again with a whoop!]

[B - in the Library]

[Not doing his homework had finally caught up with him and now Roxas is scrambling. And there's still so much to do. An essay for charms, practice for transfiguration, reading for Defense against the Dark Arts? It's almost too much. He stares intently at his parchment, before finally letting out a loud sigh and pushing away from the table to head into the stacks.

He thinks he knows what book he's looking for, but of course it's on a shelf he can't reach.]

This is stupid.

around the grounds.
[ As a very dedicated Care of Magical Creatures professor, Snow can usually be found tending to said magical creatures, feeding them, cleaning up their pens, grooming them... you name it, Snow's probably doing it. Busy as he is (some of those critters require high maintenance!) he's always up for a conversation with a student or a fellow teacher. ]
inside the castle.
[ Alternately, Snow can be found wandering the castle! Guy likes to stroll around, after all, and there's a ton of stuff to check out, even if he's lived here for a long time. After all, there's always something new, and the castle never disappoints. Bother him, run into him (he's built like a brick wall), or play a prank on him, whatever. At least he's got a good sense of humor? ]

OUTSIDE, IMMEDIATE CAMPUS GROUNDS

She was there early, but it didn't really matter. Her family on all sides were just too busy this year to take her back, and it made her wonder why things had to be like that.

Still, Adela sort of liked the some-what empty campus. Summer homework was easy to finish without any distractions, she could spend more time with Saggia, and she had to admit that Hogwarts was a beautiful campus in the summer. In fact, on a beautiful day with few white clouds in the sky and the sun shining bright, it was hard to resist taking her broom for a spin around campus. She didn't really have a chance before between getting it for her birthday and exams, so what better time than right then and there!

It wasn't hard to see her racing with her owl in the sun, and she grinned and laughed before the two landed on the roof, seating herself and relaxing a bit as she looked over the broom and enjoyed the company of her pet. It was kind of nice and isolated up here... There was nothing in the world quite like flying.

LIBRARY, COMMON AREA

It was probably a strange sight, to have one of the summer students actually studying during her stay at Hogwarts. Even stranger still was that she was in fact not a Ravenclaw but clearly wearing Hufflepuff colours even with summer clothing. The strangest thing at all was that it wasn't homework she was researching, but instead it was reading Hogwarts: A History with other wizarding history books piled beside the luxurious chair she had seated herself in. She'd gotten enough sunshine for one day, and with most of her summer homework completed... Even three years later, she couldn't help her desire to learn about the world she had no idea existed until she turned eleven.

Still, it was quiet even for a library. Not that she minded the silence, but part of her wished she was allowed to bring Saggia into the library, if only for the company...

HUFFLEPUFF, COMMON AREA

A long day, a quiet but bright night where sunset hadn't happened yet. It was nice to sit by the fire even if the summer evening was already quite warm, but the ice water provided in the rooms helped. Still, she wasn't tired yet, so maybe... This would help her get there. If only so that she could get away from that cat for a little while.

Why did it like her so much? Sure it was cute, but it wasn't like she was its owner. Didn't it belong to that girl Naminé?

There were a lot of transfer students coming in, she thought to herself absently. It was a little confusing, but it wasn't like it was her business. She didn't even feel like reading anymore, but what else could she do?
