Just down the road from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry lies the village of Hogsmede, known for being the only non-muggle settlement in Britain. The town is known for its shops, which are frequented by the students of Hogwarts during the year, as well as for establishments like The Three Broomsticks.

Notable locations include:

The Three Broomsticks
Run by Madame Rosmerta, The Three Broomsticks is the perfect place to warm up on a cold day. It's a pleasant little bar known for it's Butterbeer.

Honeyduke's  Sweet Shop
A favourite of Hogwarts students, Honeydukes is a purveyor of a wide variety of sweets including it's world-famous chocolate, Fizzing Whizzbees, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Acid Pops and so much more. Might want to watch out for the Cockroach Cluster though.

Zonko's Joke Shop
Another favourite for the Hogwarts crowd, Zonko's is the best place to buy all your magical jokes and pranks. A perfect place to pick up dungbombs, Dr. Filibusters wet-start no heat fireworks, and if you're in the right mood, skiving snackboxes.
in honor of Valentine's Day, Zonko's is offering discounts on some love potion chocolates. Said chocolates may induce a day dreamy like state as you think about your true love, or have you suddenly spouting sonnets or poetry at random.
*Zonko's proprietors take no responsibility of any resulting moments of extreme embarrassment that may come as a result of use.

Madame Puddifoot's
Another little cafe, run by Madame Puddifoot. Typically favored by couples due to it's cozy atmosphere.
True to the season, Madame Puddifoot has taken the opportunity to decorate. The air is filled with confetti and sparkles in red and pink and cute little cherubs hover in the air.

The Shrieking Shack
Rumoured to be one of the most haunted locations in Britain, so much so that the locals avoid it. While it's stood silent for years, it's still worth seeing.

The Hog's Head
Run by Aberforth Dumbledore, The Hog's Head is another pub that has been known to attract a less than reputable clientele. However, it's something of a tourist spot as well, due to it being the starting point for Dumbledore's Army and the role the pub played in the Battle of Hogwarts, much to Aberforth's chagrin.

FLYING! | Anywhere Outside | Early Morning

[Kotaro has been given permission from his super amazing, super talented, older brother and so he's learning to fly. He has a borrowed broom held eagerly between his fingers. He's suppose to wait for Sano but he knows how to take off from flying classes. He mounts his broom and kicks off hard.

He hovers for a few seconds before leaning forward and urging the broom to follow.

That's when everything went wrong. The broom bucks forward sailing high into the sky with Kotaro along for the ride. He screams, his cries falling further away as the broom flies with a mind of it's own. 50 feet up in the air and Kotaro's grip slips. He falls to the ground his screams echoing around the grounds as the earth approaches at a dangerous rate.]

CAKE! | Great Hall | Later That Day

[Kotaro wouldn't have died from the fall but he does get cake afterwards! Well, he asked for cake which is why he's sitting in the great hall with a fork clasp tightly in his hand. He digs into a large piece of chocolate cake with a wide smile on his lips.

His weakness is desert though he feels bad for upsetting everyone.

He hopes that he's not in trouble or that Jiro hasn't found out the exact details of what happened. He has a feeling that he's going to be yelled at but for now Cake is his main focus.]

A. Great Hall, Lunch Period (and after class post announcement)

Hello everyone!

[ An overly excited blond was at the front of the hall in front of the staff table, grinning from ear to ear in elation. That he had been heard out was great, and that it had been approved was wonderful! There was a lot of planning to do, and most importantly he had to spread the word! ]

I'm helping to organize a dance next Saturday for Valentine's, right here in the Great Hall! It is open to the entire school, so it would be wonderful of you to attend! And, of course, any volunteering to help plan the party and make it a perfect night for everyone is also appreciated! The event can allow casual dress, though semi-formal and formal clothing is encouraged! It will run from seven-thirty p.m. on the thirteenth to twelve-thirty a.m. on the fourteenth!

[ Perhaps some of the teachers didn't like how showy Tamaki was with his announcement, but any who knew him knew it was pointless to stop him at that time. With a flick of his wand and a soft incantation he sent several dozen parchments flying, landing neatly in-between platters of food on each table so the students would have a physical copy of the details of the dance. ]

If you wish to ask more questions or perhaps offer your expertise, I, Tamaki Suoh of the Hufflepuff House, will be in the Great Hall each day after class until the day of the dance to answer any questions and to work together with you! Thank you all!

[ Quite cheerfully he returned to his seat for the remainder of the lunch period, quite proud of himself and pleased that he could do something fun like this. He was true to his word as well, going to the Great Hall every day after he was done with classes. There, it would be much easier to talk with those who wished to, and to be sure that the future event would be a wonderful experience for as many people as possible. ]

B. Hufflepuff Common Room

[ One of the many things Tamaki has pulled over the course of the past year was getting a beautiful grand piano in the corner of Hufflepuff's Common Room. Although there had been some scolding and lecturing from the headmistress about not doing whatever he wished because it was a school, ultimately it had been allowed to stay so long as the students didn't complain about it taking too much space.

Because of this, almost nightly when it wasn't a holiday, Tamaki could be found using it. Often he would play beautiful classical pieces, and that night was no different when he decided to play a piece of Frederic Chopin's. He would often play quieter pieces, knowing that they were less disruptive than some other songs.

Of course, it didn't mean he wasn't up for stopping long enough to have a conversation, whether it was in the middle or between pieces. There was just something calming about playing at the end of each day, something he truly enjoyed. ]

Great Hall or Gryffindor Common Room

[Yami was at least of having one thing he liked around. Duel Monsters. Even though there weren't anything fancy his deck was his own, or at least his own and a special partner of his. So when he had the time and it wasn't time to be eating, he could be found shuffling his deck, placing it down and pulling out the first card of his deck just to see what card it was. After all it wasn't like he could duel anyone anyway.]

Quidditch Pitch

[He had heard so much about this game that he just had to go see it at least once. However what he saw was something very different than what he was expecting. It was also baffling to him as to why it was so popular. Arms folded over his chest, he was still watching.]

I don't get it at all. Why do you people willingly play a game where they could get seriously hurt?

[And his shadow games in the past did not count as usually those were typical games he twisted into something else for whatever purpose he needed.]

QUIDDITCH PRACTICE OF ANY KIND

[The one thing that Sano liked about January was, that two months after the Quidditch season started, a lot more students started to take interest in it and gathered enough courge to be willing to try. Though sometimes it took a bit of convincing on his part, but if he knew he student wanted to play, he wouldn't give in. Sometimes people needed a little push. So it happens, that he's got some more private lessons than he anticipate, but that's all fine with him. He doesn't mind coaching young talents for future generations of his beloved sport. And even if the skill doesn't come natrally, all you needed was determination and discipline. There's no amount of talent that could measure up to hard work.

Of course he's still coaching the house teams as well, usually during the afternoon. Practice is ain full gear now, with the house cup up and running, the point piling up more rapidly than the coins in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. No matter the weather, Sano's up his broom and instructing the player almost every day now, sometimes even twice a day, yelling out various instructions as he's at it.

It's a wonder no one has found him slumped in his chair in the referee's room, trying to catch his breath yet. The amount of flying is slightly getting to him, but it's still bearable. He's more exhausted than he should be, but he's mostly okay. A few minutes of rest and a goodnight of sleep usually do the trick.]

TIME OFF

[The other thing Sano likes about January is the National Quidditch League. Being a former pro player he's got a free entry to all of his former team's games, along with anyone who's in his company and if he wants to, he can usually convince people to get him free tickets for other games as well. It's not unusual to find him up on a Saturday morning, dressed in his casual robes, heading out of the castle, towards Hogsmead, where he can apparate to whichever stadion the game's held at.

His colleagues and friends usually know what he's up to, since he tends to randomly invite them, in case they feel like seeing a game. He's alwayshappy for company and he won't let anyone, who wants to see a goood game, miss their opportunity. They either meet him up before heading to Hogsmead together, or outside of the village on a designated meeting point.]

Defense Against the Dark Arts Class
[For those who were use to another teacher will be getting a surprise when a blond vampire, who still looked like he should be in his final year of school and not teaching it walked in and toward the front. As he got to his desk he turned around, putting the book on the table, before giving a wide smile. It was almost like he could sparkle if he smiled any more.]

Welcome to class~ I'm Hanabusa Aidou and I will be your new teacher. Now open your books and we'll get right now to business, okay?

[He was quick to move though and close each and every curtain. Even though he is fine in the sunlight. He just finds it bothersome at best. The candles that are around should be enough light.]

Great Hall
[Aidou really was use to the finer things in life. Fancy food and clothes, so when he had seen what was on offer his face dropped slightly. Really, what the heck was even half of this stuff and how on earth did people willingly eat such things. He couldn't help but push his plate away, he wasn't going to eat any of the main stuff at least, but he knew he had to wait for the dessert and maybe later other things if he was allowed.]

Corridors at Night
[Aidou was more than happy to do the night shifts when it comes to making sure students were in there dorms and not wondering the corridors. It helped for him to use that time also to do what he deep down wanted to. After all there were no blood tablets so he had to get his blood elsewhere. But the how he would do it was another matter altogether.]

A. Quidditch Pitch, Early Morning

It was funny. A conversation with an upperclassman had cheered Adela up enough to let her get more involved with her own life again, rather than to simply exist. Namely, she had decided to head to the Quidditch Pitch in order to watch the teams practising in the early morning.

It was easy to tell that the girl on the side-lines was enamoured, not really thinking about anything at all and instead watching the drills they ran with a rather rare smile on her face. Maybe there were thoughts about her wanting to take part, and she did feel a little envy towards the players on house teams, but for the moment she was content simply to watch. Even if it was cold out. And she couldn't feel the tip of her nose.

...

At least consistently casting the hot-air charm on her sleeves was helping keep her warm?

B. School Grounds, Late Afternoon/Early Evening after classes (save Astronomy) are out for the day

Watching other students practice was all well and good, but there was nothing quite like the thrill of flying on her own broom. The lack of icicles on the roof edges was surprising, but after figuring that someone likely removed them for safety's sake earlier Adela ended up landing in the courtyard, sitting on one of the roofs and watching people walking by or stopping in there. It was so cool to see almost all of Hogwarts covered in a white blanket of snow, quiet and serene even as the sun was beginning to set. Sometimes, just being up there by herself made her forget that she was supposed to dislike the place for the grief it had caused her.

Things almost went south when she saw her broom slipping, but thankfully Adela managed to see it in time in order to catch it by the handle. Unfortunately, the snow further down from her feet and the broom weren't spared from their swift descent to the ground, perhaps barely missing or even landing on a passerby below. At least it was relatively soft?

C. The Great Hall, Hufflepuff Table, Dinner Time/Evening

Though she hadn't hid herself in the library again, the debacle in the courtyard made her just want to avoid everyone. She wasn't meeting anyone's eye, instead just prodding at her food absently and trying to ignore the world around her. It was true that she was actually eating a little more than she had recently, but she was still feeling embarrassed over earlier.

In fact, almost as soon as she could she made to leave the area, fully intending to just head to the Owlry and maybe give Saggia a hug. That was about the one thing that could stand any chance of improving her mood then, because she had had enough of people for one day by that point.

Courtyard

[What a place to wake up in the middle of winter. Eren's wearing his normal military clothes (without his gear) but it's not the most convenient clothes for lying in the snow. Why is he lying in the snow? Well, that's just how he arrived to this placed, after being in his titan form in an entirely different place.

It hasn't quite struck him that he's there quite yet, since he's feeling fatigued. It had been one of the more intense practice runs with Hanji, so there's no mistake he's very tired.

... but damn it is cold. Why is it so cold all of a sudden? Was this a byproduct as well?]

Ravenclaw Common Room
[ It's the middle of the night when Gareki climbs out of bed and slides his feet into a pair of warm slippers. The castle's not frigged, he's felt worse, but it's enough that he pulls the blanket off his bed and drags it with him as he makes his way to the common room. Quietly, he flops into one of the old worn out sofa's and throws the cover over himself, only to stare a the glowing embers of the fire.

So much for that idea. And he left his wand by his bed. ]

Tch. Insomnia could have hit at a better time.

[ Y'know. Like a time he didn't have to wake up and take one of the classes he hated. ]

Library
[ Gareki is no stranger to the library. If anyone knows him, they know that's the first place to look for him when they want him. If they know him even better, they know his hiding spot is the furthest table away from people, where he could read in peace. Well. Most of the time.

Today is no different. Gareki is currently reading one of the smuggled restricted area books, not particularly caring if anyone found him. It's not like he couldn't use a confudus charm on them, and not like he hadn't spelled the book's cover he was reading to look harmless. ]

Great Hall
[ Among the other ravenclaws, he sits eating dinner. Well, more like picking and choosing what he wants to eat. It's not that Gareki is picky, but that despite the food being good, he's still not as used to, even after years of acclimating, things like pumpkin juice and Flobberworm fritters.

Honestly, he'd love a good burger. ]

Oi, how the hell can you eat this? [ He's pointing to a fitter. ] It's disgusting.

[ Stomping up the stairs and slamming his bedroom door felt really kind of good, to be perfectly honest. He's pissed. Beyond pissed, really. To the point that Jean Kirstein, brilliantly bitchy 15 year old boy, has not said a word in the last hour since driving back from the train station. The fury refuses to reach his tongue and the only words to really come out are "what the fuck Mom!" but he's already been reprimanded for his dirty mouth. He could really care less if anyone pulls through on their threat to further reprimand him for it, but those are the only words coming out of his mouth and it's not like he hates the bullshittery going on or anything.

Just...

Why?

Jean is surprisingly okay with having a bigger family. Surprisingly fine with now having a sister. But what in the ever loving fuck were they thinking by hiding this kind of thing from them? The most upsetting thing is that he can't even escape to a friend's house to ignore the situation because the only friend he has not living in the wizarding world is now his sister, living under the same damn roof that he is. ]

What the fuck, Mom?!

[ It's that time again. Time for DA DA DA!!! Mail! Owls swoop in, leaving letters in front of those who receive them. Jean's not expecting to get anything, but isn't surprised to see something for him from his mother. They don't particularly have the best of relationships, Jean being an unruly teenager and her being a good mom that smothers loves him.

He rolls his eyes at the letter, tempted to stuff it in his robes for later reading. Whatever's inside will probably raise his hackles, as is typical of anything she sends him. Jean's not really keen on the whole idea of getting annoyed during the middle of the day, but what the hell. It's probably the same usual crap she sends him, and at least he can say he's been a good son if he read it, right?

Right.

Tearing it open, he begins to read. At first, he's right. It's the usual crap. She's gushing about her boyfriend of a couple months, telling him he'd like him and blah blah blah. Really, it makes him roll his eyes.

But when it comes to the part where she says the new boyfriend is moving in, Jean damn near rips the letter in half with how tightly he grips the edges. She goes on to further say that Christmas will be a family event this year, and that he better show up, but he hasn't really read that part. Instead, he crumples the letter up and slams it onto the table with a loud thud. ]

[Hogsmeade: Closed to Annie Leonhart]

[Reiner had never seen anything like this. The houses and the people around him were all different from the world he knows normally. There were floating objects, people waving what looked like wooden sticks and everyone was dressed up in cloaks.

This was definitely some weird ass dream. There's no way any of these things could be real. Though when he actually tried to snap himself it actually did hurt... and when it hurt he didn't turn into anything, even if he wanted to so he could have a better view, further from the village. So which one should he believe?

Reiner ducks out of the busy streets to an alley to get some time to think through on what's going on.]

[School grounds]

[After reaching the school grounds, the direction which he was told to take, Reiner got even more confused. The same things kept happening - just the people looked younger than the ones in the village.

On top of that, he was greeted like he'd been there before and told that he missed class today and would be in trouble if he didn't report to a teacher about why he was away.]

Hogwarts Grounds, After A First-Year Flying Lesson

[Those were definitely brooms, and they were definitely flying.

What gives?

In-between rambling about how good it was that she had transferred (well.... that was true in more ways than one...)
into the school early in the year before there was too much to catch up on, the perfect showing Kyoko Kirigiri around had pointed out the school field and said it was for a sport involving flying broomsticks. 'Seeing is believing', supposedly, but people flying on broomsticks was a hard pill to swallow.

It was apparently an extremely easy pill for all of the magical folk, who actually were taught how to operate brooms in their first year. Oh, these cultural differences.

This might be a cultural difference that needed addressing immediately, though. Missing out on a skill that literally the rest of the school know is not really what you want to do when you're thrown alone into a new world. So here she was, lurking under the shade of a tree a distance from where the flying class was being held. Lurking quite suspiciously, but cut her some slack, there wasn't a single good hiding spot out here in the open anyway.

On one hand, she's had practice at learning by observation. On the other hand, the first-years she was observing..... were not the best role-models on campus. The professor's instructions were plenty, at least. And plenty loud, enough to carry through the open air. Honestly, she'd do a lot better (probably)
with instructions alone and a broom to herself, but she'd already checked out the feasibility of secretly loaning a broom (nope. Lockpicking the broom shed just wasn't a worthwhile risk at this point.) and lessons with the first-years.....

The first-years were eleven. Kirigiri stared at the class as the professor debriefed and dismissed them. A 6th year joining the 1st was a terrible idea.

What then? Problems, problems.... would a passing student or teacher like to distract her from her worries?]

[1st flying class]

[The september morning was beautiful, if not slightly chilly, without a single cloud in sight, so finally, prof. McGonagall gave him green light for the first flying lesson, which he had scheduled as the first thing in the morning, before proper lesson start. Nothing better to wake you up than a soar through the moisty morning sky. Well, other than coffee, but these folks were still too young for that. Most of the students were yawning in the early morning hour - and really Sano wasn't much of a morning person himself, but he had already had his cup of coffee and he had taken extra care to not got too late to sleep last night, so he put on his brightest smile, letting the morning air carry his voice, when he called out, stepping onto the grounds with a brisk step.]

Hello and good morning, everyone! [A few students startled at the sudden sound, but Sano didn't let that stop him.] I am Harada Sano and for as long as it takes, I am gonna be your flying teacher. Don't worry, I'll make sure your feet won't stay on the ground for too long. You can refer to me any way you like, as long as it's respectful, but if you call me professor, you'll see yourself flying through one of that hoops, faster than you can spell 'quidditch'. [He announced, nodding his head to the six quidditch hoops on the stadium, ranging high into the sky.] Now that's cleared, step forward and meet your new flying companion for the duration of the lesson.

[School Grounds, outside the castle]

[When he wasn't teaching, Sano liked to take walks outside the castle, that almost always took him to the lake. There he would either jog, or work out, a habit that his muggle father had drilled into him. "I don't care how good you are with charms, if you can't discipline yourself, you'll end up being lazy. Fitness comes with hard work, not with the wave of a wand," he'd claim and Sano found he agreed. Even though he had hated it as a kid, getting up early and working out, going to run even if the most impossible weather. But it was all thanks to that, that he had been crowned one of the best keepers in the kingdom, so he owed his old man a lot, as he begrudgingly admitted.

It was a sunny day, chilly, but not cold yet, just as you'd expect from a late september morning. He had received the invitation to the masquerade and eventually he'd have to buy a mask for himself, but that still had time. He could maybe talk to Ran, see if they could matcht heir outfits. It would be quite fun and give the kids an opportunity to tease the hell out of them.]

[ In hindsight, maybe Jean shouldn't have gotten in trouble on the first day. Normally he was pretty good. His temper wasn't the best and most knew it, so in order for them all to get along they sorta left Jean alone when they could see him ready to melt down. The first years didn't, but the first years never really bothered Jean. Except for that white haired bastard that he shared a room with, throwing something at him because Jean had the balls to be blunt with him.

So there he stood, in the headmistress's office. She clicked her tongue at him with a shake of her head, gave him his punishment, and sent him on his way.

Except he knew that she'd already sent a letter to his mom. A letter that would probably piss her off.

Low and behold, in Defense Against the Dark Arts his owl came swooping in with a special delivery. A red envelope, nicely packaged and pretty. It looked innocuous but Jean didn't want to open it. He knew from his first year, just a few weeks in when he nearly got expelled for the year, exactly what that letter was. And everyone was already looking at him.

He snatched it up and stuffed it under his school robes but he knew that wouldn't be enough. And indeed it wasn't, when he let out a loud yelp, the envelope biting him and soon it was flying from under his robes into the air, hovering over his desk and staring at him, even if it had no eyes. ]

Crap--

JEAN KIRSTEIN!!

[ Shit. His mother's shrill voice. The one she used in the most extreme circumstances because he didn't usually get reprimanded. He was a mama's boy, after all. He sighed, sliding down in his chair to maybe make himself look like he wasn't there. The Howler continued.

Was the room hot, or was that just his face about to explode? ]

Picking fights again? Have you no shame! You're usually such a good boy.

[ Disappointment. In howler form. Whoever had taught her about these all those years ago could really fuck off. ]

Mama is very disappointed in you, Jeanie Boy! You need to do better and make friends, not push them away. I hope nothing happened to that Gokudera boy. Go apologize to him as soon as you can. Mama loves you, Jeanie Boy!

[Sasha was currently busy working on her homework in the Great Hall -- for once not actually eating (okay maybe nibbling on something but..) -- when she noticed a letter drop down on top of her homework. Looking up, she noticed as her owl was perched for a moment as if waiting for her to notice her before flying back towards the Owlery. Looking to the letter, she opened it up to read it, setting down her quill.

Dear Sasha,

How has school been for you so far? Anything exciting happen yet? Or did you makes some new friends?

I just wanted to check in on you and see how you were doing. I know it's been tough back home, but we're hanging in there. I can't wait to see you again, but that will just have to wait until your next break when you can come and visit.

As for me, I've been pretty busy, but that's pretty normal. I also have something I would like to tell you, but I don't want you to get mad or sad. I know it's been a few years, but I have decided to start dating again. I don't know how you'll take it. I know the prospect of a child's father or mother starting to date again can sometimes lead to.... complicated feelings. In fact, I'm dating someone right now. She's a very kind lady and I know for sure that you'll like her. I'm 100% positive of that. Just try to keep an open mind as time goes on and I'll keep you in the loop too.

This isn't a very long letter, but I am curious as to how everything is going for you. Let me know what's up. Study hard, Sash. I know you're a smart girl. Just don't let the food distract you too much, okay?

Love & miss you,
Dad

Reading the contents, she stared at the letter, not sure what to feel. Dad was dating someone else? Couldn't he have at least told her who? Maybe he wasn't telling her to keep her from freaking out too much, but right now it was sort of having the reverse affect. She let out a deep sigh as she folded the letter again.]

I CAN REALLY EAT ALL OF THIS!

[The young boy really seems excited as he digs into a big piece of cake sitting in front of him.]

Great Hall

[Usagi slumped down on the table a fork in her hand as she started to play with the food in front of her. She had to admit she still kind of missed home and figured she could perhaps figure out a way to send mail home and let everyone know how she is and how things are. After all she was pretty sure those she helped bring back to life were wondering where on earth she was right now. Especially her closest friends and her boyfriend.

She she put the fork down she was slowly starting to wonder is he was maybe looking for her or something. That brought a smile to the young ladies face when she thought about it. That would be something he would do after all. For those who might be wondering or even sitting at the table might notice the young girl just sitting there, deep in though and with food right in front of her. She didn't appear to be eating it any time soon.]

Hallways

[Holding on to a few letters, Usagi had brought it onto herself to figure out how to send mail to home. After all it seemed like the normal method might not be the actual case as they didn't have phones here. So it seemed like letters at least were her best bet. Seeing someone close by she was quick to run on over, waving her hand in the air and holding her letters in the other hand.]

Hello, can you tell me how to send letters? Because I haven't a clue.

Owlery

[Upon finally finding out to send letters, she had found her way towards the Owlery, a small smile upon her lips with each step she took and her mind wondering to the fact that soon her mail ws going to go to those she loved and cared about. When she took the finally steps and entered the place, she looked up in wonder at all the owls that lived here. There were so many it was hard to choose the few she would need to send out. But she somehow managed to pick at least five that she had planned on sending out. As she tied each one to the owls legs she made a wish that it would reach her friends before sending them off. However with the last letter she couldn't help but kiss it, eyes closed for a moment before tying it up. She was sendind this one to Mamo-chan and she hoped deep down in her heart that it would reach him.

Sending the owl off she couldn't help but watch the owl fly off, a small smile still on her face as it did.]

[Where would you find Sasha in a giant magical castle like this? Of course, sitting at the Hufflepuff table in the Great Hall is a girl clearly enjoying the refillable food.

Perhaps too much though? Because now she has her had lying on her arms in front of her on the table. Kids, don't eat too much.]

Ugh.... Who knew you could eat too much...?
