Hogsmede Trip: February 13th 2016

Just down the road from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry lies the village of Hogsmede, known for being the only non-muggle settlement in Britain. The town is known for its shops, which are frequented by the students of Hogwarts during the year, as well as for establishments like The Three Broomsticks. 

Notable locations include:

The Three Broomsticks
Run by Madame Rosmerta, The Three Broomsticks is the perfect place to warm up on a cold day. It's a pleasant little bar known for it's Butterbeer.

Honeyduke's  Sweet Shop
A favourite of Hogwarts students, Honeydukes is a purveyor of a wide variety of sweets including it's world-famous chocolate, Fizzing Whizzbees, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Acid Pops and so much more. Might want to watch out for the Cockroach Cluster though.

Zonko's Joke Shop
Another favourite for the Hogwarts crowd, Zonko's is the best place to buy all your magical jokes and pranks. A perfect place to pick up dungbombs, Dr. Filibusters wet-start no heat fireworks, and if you're in the right mood, skiving snackboxes.
in honor of Valentine's Day, Zonko's is offering discounts on some love potion chocolates. Said chocolates may induce a day dreamy like state as you think about your true love, or have you suddenly spouting sonnets or poetry at random.

Madame Puddifoot's 
Another little cafe, run by Madame Puddifoot. Typically favored by couples due to it's cozy atmosphere.
True to the season, Madame Puddifoot has taken the opportunity to decorate. The air is filled with confetti and sparkles in red and pink and cute little cherubs hover in the air. 

The Shrieking Shack
Rumoured to be one of the most haunted locations in Britain, so much so that the locals avoid it. While it's stood silent for years, it's still worth seeing.

The Hog's Head
Run by Aberforth Dumbledore, The Hog's Head is another pub that has been known to attract a less than reputable clientele. However, it's something of a tourist spot as well, due to it being the starting point for Dumbledore's Army and the role the pub played in the Battle of Hogwarts, much to Aberforth's chagrin.

The Post Office
Need to send an owl? The post office has you covered with owls of all shapes and sizes to send anywhere in the world.

Seriously, who invited this guy?

[It's a little off the beaten path, away from the reputable shops and areas, in an area of the town where usually students stayed away from. If they were rule-abiding anyway.

If they weren't however, and wanted to see more of the town, they might come across this little stall, which seems to have some interesting, holiday appropriate wares. At the very least, there's certainly some very colourful bottles on the table.

The guy running the stall (have you seen him before?) is very insistent that they are love potions, and maybe some of them are. Others look suspect, some look like duds, and there's probably a few that are just plain bottles of water.

[ Coming to Hogsmeade to do some last minute shopping for the dance is stressful, but at least she can walk around the town and admire the town. At least, until she spots a small stall.

Who is this guy? The red head stares a little bit, pausing before approaching and looking over the selection of potions. Love potions though? ]

[ If she were a more controlled person she'd know that it's probably not the best thing to mumble aloud to herself, but who said a teenage girl knows better? ]

[Uro's always curiously walking through the more darker places of the town, whenever no one notices. It's become a habit of his ever since he was still in school. And there was the fact that some of his clients were sometimes wandering around the place but they never told him the exact place, so it was only natural for him to be where students didn't roam.

That's why Uro comes across this little stall. Love potions for Valentine's day? How original.]

[Daisuke knows full well he has to go to places in this town that he wouldn't normally find himself in and for good reason as well. But seeing the stall as he had been walking past, he couldn't help but look over and for once, not look at all impressed.]

[And Louise wouldn't know that little tidbit, so there she was looking around. Seeing the colorful bottles, they caught her attention.]

Love potions huh....?

[She's skeptical.]

Salon

[ Even if she's already decided that she's going to the dance (under protest), and even if she already has a dress... There really isn't any other place to look for make-up and the like, thus making the trip to Hogsmeade then. It's lucky that this place is across the street from Honeydukes, but... But...

All of this hair and make-up stuff, she's never even seen half this stuff before! At least, not up close!

How would she even use most of this? Adela's frowning at the products she's looking over, her eye twitching as she attempts to puzzle it out. Why is she even bothering with this again...? ]

Salon

[Pinkie Pie really had no reason to be in the Salon except maybe to see what they had. After all this place wasn't here when she was a student here.

As she got in she had bounced on over to the poor unfortunate student, with the widest of grins.]

[ Perhaps it's a little strange to see Tamaki in Hogsmeade on the day of the dance, but honestly this is the last chance he has to do something special. He's seen talking to the clerk and manager, and he seems to be paying a lot of galleons for a little slip of paper that gets pocketed. The end of the conversation happens rather quickly before he starts to try to leave the store, though he wouldn't say no to a conversation before he does. ]

[Michiko had been buying a few flowers for reasons she hadn't really told anyone and had started to take them back to the school when she spotted the shop, wondering if she should go in. With her curiosity pinged she slowly made her way over, only quickly having to back up when the door opened.]

[Daisuke felt really nervous when going into town, if not because of what was going on then because of what his mother had told him. The thing that he had been looking for happened to be around here somewhere and knowing that the party was coming up he figured he was suppose to try it that night.

So Daisuke was simply wondering around, watching certain buildings, looking for possible ways to get in without getting spotted and every so often he would go into a store to have a look around.]

Shrieking Shack

[No matter how many times Ryou went to Hogsmeade he never got tired of sitting outside the Shrieking Shack. He loved it and it was also the best place to get away from girls should one need it due to it's creepy nature. So Ryou was sitting down, reading and taking notes for class.]

[If pressed for answers about why he decided to check out the creepy shack, he's say he have no idea why he even bothered in the first place. ...And okay, if someone had pushed the answer out of him, Rin would have admitted to hearing a few girls talking about how creepy the place was. And, hey, maybe he wanted to check it out for himself. Like, if the place really was haunted, maybe he could ... do stuff.

As he made his way towards the Shack, he noticed that there was already someone there. Rin hadn't expected company (and company hadn't expected him). He stares at the other boy for a brief second before making his way towards him.

The other kid looked quiet enough to ignore and just go on his way but... Rin didn't want to seem completely rude. Plus, asking questions usually got him places! Usually. So with that resolve in mind, Rin stuffs his hands in his pockets and swaggers towards the unsuspecting student.]

Hey. [That... That probably sounded gruffer than he meant it to.] Anything weird ever happened here?

[... Short, sweet, and to the point. Good job, Rin.]

Zonko's Joke Shop & The Three Broomsticks

[One of Kaoru's favourite places was the joke shop. He knew his brother had wanted to come here and he found himself coming along. He looked over the shelves seeing what they had to offer and had door brought one of the chocolates a few dungbombs and one other thing he had planned on keeping secret.

When he had done he had left the store and made his way toward the the pub for a good old Butterbeer that Kaoru had always found himself liking.]

I've been waiting for this opportunity.

[Good thing he was no longer in detention or he wouldn't have most likely been able to come. He makes sure to spend hi money in the correct way of buying necessarily prank items, such as dungbombs and stink pellets. Of course, he needed to try the special valentine's day stuff as well.]

[Pinkie Pie had been doing a last minute supply run, rushing into each and every store to grab a few things and when she was done, she left the last store carrying boxes and boxes off stuff that towered dramatically over her and bags were placed on every inch of her arms.

It looked like she needed the help.]

[Eren had wandered around this new place, curious about what the town had to offer. Nothing he can afford, that's for sure. He doesn't really even have anything to wear for the dance tomorrow, but that's fine with him.

It's when he decides it's time to go back that he notices Pinkie Pie carrying a worrying amount of stuff on her arms. Uh oh. That won't end well.]

[Sousuke can't believe his luck. He came back to Hogwarts and the first thing he gets is a free pass to Hogsmaede. Not that he can complain, he's always like visiting the place. Mostly for some Butterbeer.

It's kind of cold though. Sousuke sighs and puts his muffler better as he walks towards the Three Broomsticks. Still no sight of Rin, even. Maybe he didn't bother coming to the town today?]

[Seth lightly bumps into Sousuke by accident on his way towards The Three Broomsticks. It's his favorite place to hang out and in his haste he lost his spacial awareness.]

Arrival:

[One moment she's singing the last line of For The First Time In Forever and bumping into something or someone in Arendelle... Next moment she's falling on a pile of snow in her summery dress and shaking her hands away from the snow.

Wait! Snow? Anna looks confused as she looks around, still sitting in the snow like she just forgets to get up right now. There's no snow in summer, that's crazy! Or is this really what the world outside the gates is like? Where's all that water? The ships? Everything? This Arendelle looks... DIFFERENT!]

Anywhere:

[There's one extremely excited girl running around anywhere and everywhere with wide eyes shining like stars in excitement. And she's talking a lot, mostly to herself because let's be real, she's used to almost everyone just ignoring her like she doesn't even exist.

It's not like she has any post to send; not yet, but maybe she could write a letter home? But that's her first time seeing a Post Office like that, so she stops there for a moment. Hog's Head looks like it's not really a place for her -- so she just looks at its door and decides to go somewhere else instead. Same with Puddifoot as it seems to be for couples -- ooops, okay bye, she'll be walking out of the door about as soon as she walks in.

She's curious about many things at Zonko's; not that she has money to buy anything, but hey, she can look and maybe touch some things anyway, right? Well at least she can look.

Honeydukes is obviously her favorite place. "Chocolate Frogs can't hop, that's just crazy!" Yeah well, welcome to magical world, princess. She's almost frowning at those beans. "Do they really come in every flavor?" and no, really, Anna is like a little kid here. Just trying not to touch anything, because how would she even pay for it?

And she's looking at that haunted house from far away. Is it really haunted? Hmmm. She's not going to find out, not alone at least. Or maybe she will if she's going to be as lonely here as she is back home but... Here's hoping someone might notice her here. Maybe not here here, but in this weird new Arendelle.

Three Broomsticks seems like a good place to take a break? Yeah, so she goes there to ... sit or stand around, not ordering / buying anything but just looking at people and everything going on around her seems to amaze her a lot. No, really. This is amazing, why didn't anyone tell her that the world outside the gates is like this??

Or you can just find her wondering around the streets too. Still looking as fascinated as ever as if she's never seen anything like this before ( wow, she's making it pretty obvious that she's a new arrival) ... and talking a lot to ... herself, it seems. ( Or maybe she's crazy or a crazy new arrival, who knows. )]

[Ittoki notices the girl around the place as he's shopping for something good himself. Is she another transfer student? They seem to get them a lot these days...]

They do hop. I've lost at least half of my frogs because I've been too slow.

The Post Office

[After visiting the Honeydokes shop, Ittoki makes his way to the Post Office. He has a rather large delivery for the orphanage he grew in. Good thing they also sold wizarding sweets that were okay to send to muggles. It was a tradition for him to send one on every Hogsmaede visit since the kids just loved to receive presents from their older bro.

There are also a few letters attached and lyrics to a song he wrote. Unfortunately, he's carrying so much he's dropping some of the stuff.]

[Hikaru calls out with a warm smile, her hand waving with some items that Ittoki might recognize as his.]

[She's panting softly when she reaches him.]

The Post Office

[She has a thin canvas that she's rolled up to a slightly smaller size without damaging it. She's staring in dismay at the man behind the counter. She'd have used the school birds but this is a little bit delicate so she hoped to use the post.]

That's so much.

[She doesn't have that many sickles to waste on mailing out her painting.]

[Namine can be found all over town, peeking into windows and enjoying everything that Hogsmede has to offer. Sometimes there is a rolled up canvas under her arm and sometimes there isn't.]

[Kaoru had been keeping quiet lately, mostly because of many things he had to think about and something he figured he might as well try and see before he did anything else or even told his brother. So styling his hair slightly different, changing his parting he had gone back into town. Spotting Namine, he started to rub the back of his neck. He figured he might as well try, right. Try and pretend to be his brother.]

[She usually stays away from Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans after getting toe-jam but Hikaru loves chocolate frogs and she grabs six before moving towards the counter. She pauses looking at another shelf and then talking to herself.]

Maybe I should grab some jelly slugs too.

[She can't make up her mind.]

Outside the Broom Shop

The new models are amazing.

[Hikaru's were alight with excitement looking at the sleek new designed broom in the window. Her fingers lightly press on the glass as if to get a closer look.]

[She'll save up every bit of money she can.]

The Three Broomsticks

[Seth doesn't spend a lot of time in Hogsmede that doesn't involve watching those around him. He only has a little bit of money and he chooses to spend it at The Three Broomsticks where he can get himself a drink. He smiles at anyone he knows but otherwise stays to himself.

Condensation rolls down the side of the cold drink in front of him before he brings it to his lips. This is one of the moments where having a lip ring gets a little bit in the way but he doesn't seem too bothered about it.]

[Rin enters the three broomstick completely out of breath, having run the entire way from the castle. He had been busy with studies and homework, detention taking up all of his usual learning time. He bursts into the establishment, gasping for breath, looking around to spot a familiar white mop of hair. WHen he finally sees his boyfriend, he smiles and jogs up to him, still panting.]

[He greets simply, but visibly happy to see Seth.]

[Kotaro is literally a kid in a candy shop however his older brother only gave him a little bit of spending money. It's all going to sweets. He spots a barrel of something that looks like cluster of candy however when he puts his hand in to check it out they bite back making him stumble backwards in fright.]

Waiting for his Date

Saito was without a doubt... nervous. This place looked way too over the top, and he and Louise were a bit shy when it came to their relationship sometimes. So what else could he do but drum his fingers nervously as he hoped she wouldn't chicken out when she saw the garishly pink decor that looked like something Siesta's uncle would have approved of. What if she didn't get the love letter he asked a house elf to deliver with the flowers on her nightstand? What if the food here wasn't up to her high standards? What if she got sick? What if she was still mad at him for dying and didn't want anything to do with him?

So here he was, sitting at a corner table, having spent all of his money to make reservations so this day would be as magical as possible for her, and dressed in the nicest wizarding clothes he could find in town. It was the first date he'd ever so officially asked her on, with lunch, exploring hogsmede, warming up by the fire with some poetry, dinner, dancing, and a kiss goodnight he was hoping she'd remember for the rest of her life. To say he was nervous was wrong... he was out of his mind with worry at this point.

[Louise didn't really have much to wear here just yet. So instead she just wore her robes to Hogsmeade. She got lost a few times, but eventually. She had received the love letter from the house elf, but she hadn't opened it just yet. She could look at it later. Finally finding the the place she was a bit nervous. Seeing the decorations didn't help her nerves.

Sure they shared kisses and in an unofficial way, they were technically married but.... they'd never had an official date. Why was she so nervous though? This was Saito and they've been through a lot by now. Finally getting the courage to pull the door open, she entered the cafe looking around for Saito. Luckily it wasn't hard to find him, if not because of the outfit he was wearing. Looking down at her robes, she suddenly felt severely under-dressed. Maybe she should have tried to find a place for a dress to fit her better? Well, crap. Stupid stripped titles VIA world traveling...

She took a seat across from him, flush red with the whole situation and setting.]

Uhm... You look... [Nice... handsome.... groomed... something, Louise!] different.

[..... Different.... Of all the things she could have said, she had to say that? She just wanted to sink in her seat already with the embarrassment of how stupid that was.]

So many places... I wonder why they don't just combined the shops into one.

[She never really knew what a shop was before she found herself here. After all she had gotten everything she needed before in the wild, now this. She just couldn't help herself with looking in the windows and seeing what was out there to buy. She had even gone into a clothes shop in order to look at dresses. After all she had no idea what the party was going to be like, but it didn't mean she didn't study and figure it out.]

So much choice... I wonder how people can choose.

[In all her months of being here, there had always been one thing she had never tried. The every flavour beans. She had seen many a person eat them and occasionally see there reaction, but had never tried one herself. So with her curiosity getting to her she had purchased a couple of boxed for herself.

When she had gotten outside she went to open one, picking out a green bean.]

Now lets see what I got.

[And with that she puts it into her mouth and starts to chew. Anyone who comes across her might notice her trying not to make any kind of reaction, which makes one wonder. What was the flavour she got?]

[It's his first time here, but Rin could tell that he could live in this shop and never get tired of it. Why wasn't there a cool store like this back home? He wasn't sure how much longer he could window shop...

Everything looked pretty - except that girl's face. ... It might have been pretty, had she been making any other expression. Should he ask? ... Yeah, he'll ask. Rin makes his way towards her, hands in his pockets.]

[While everyone was happily shopping and getting ready for the holiday of love, which Aidou swore had another name where he was from, Aidou himself was in a shop enjoying a rather large sundae. It was because of this that he even bothered to come out. Taking a bite, he seemed happy enough, which for the student who know him and he teaches would find really odd.]

[Yami had one thing about him that stood out. When it wasn't the hair it was the way he would wear his robes. The sleeves were not being used the and top half was pretty much sorted in a way like one would wearing a cape. It was something he felt comfortable doing and didn't care as he had a wonder while people simply stares and whispered to one another as he looked into a shop window.]

[Fai wondered into town, even if he wasn't meant to simply because he needed to buy some potion ingredients to be able to work on a few potions he had been curious about. So every so often he found himself wondering into stores and asking at the counter if they had something he was looking for.]

[He crossed his arms over his chest and simply waits.]

[Louise was curious about Hogsmeade. She's heard about this place, but actually seeing it was different. There were a variety of shops, so she took time to check them all out.]
