[ Even a week later, it still burned. Detention had gone off without a hitch but that still didn't make her feel any better about the whole thing.
Adela sighed at herself, her hand rising to rub at her temples before she continued to look over the book of complex counter-curses, jinxes, and hexes she had picked up. She had taken up a table to herself, fully intending not to let anyone sit with her as she simply wanted to be left alone then. She still had to be ready next time, because the previous instance... That had been horrible. She never wanted to feel that vulnerable and helpless again.
Even if a lot of those spells looked incredibly complicated. She'd have to find a private spot to practice them, something she noted along with the exact descriptions of each one and how to perform it on the parchment she had beside the book. ]
Quidditch Pitch
[ Several times it had been tempting, but Adela attended every practice she could instead of skipping out in order to avoid certain people. However, anyone watching who knew her would be able to see that something was off.
Any time she'd kick the Quaffle, she'd kick it unusually hard. She was also missing blocking and deflecting the ball with alarming frequency, visibly getting more and more frustrated each time. It eventually got to the point where she just made to land her broom, seat herself on a bench and start taking the keeper equipment off entirely. This was pointless, she couldn't even play her stupid position effectively anymore!? ]
Around
[ When she wasn't studying or failing miserably at Quidditch, Adela could be seen around the school, either wandering aimlessly or hurrying towards a place where she thought no one would bother her. More often than not this meant she was outside, lost in her own thought and not really in the mood to tolerate anyone else's presence. If it weren't for the fact that she had to attend class she'd probably just stay in the dorm room all the time, but making sure she didn't stay in the same spot for long at least should've made it harder for people to track her down.
"Should have" being the operative words, but things never were that simple. ]
