[Another school year was starting and Daphne was looking forward to being a teacher once again. A pile of books were set on her desk as she was preparing to get ready for Fourth year classes that she knew were her class for the day in the morning. As she walked to the front she decided to wait by the door and be ready to happily greet those that come in with a small smile on her face.]

Hello, welcome back to Hogwarts. I hope you had a good summer, but now we must get back to classes and study hard.

[It was the start of a new year, and Lightning was not looking forward to all of the unprepared students who would be littering her classroom at any moment now. At least they would learn new things, which was a good thing. Hopefully they would retain it.]

Welcome. I'm Lightning Farron, or Professor Farron to you all. This is Defense Against the Dark Arts. Many of you wonder why you still need this class. Even if Voldemort is dead, there are still those who will use magic to hurt you. This class will prepare you to defend yourself. Not just from people, but dark creatures as well.

[She lets that sink in.]

I will teach you how to understand how everything dark works. How you can defend yourself, escape, or even how to fully avoid any situation that involves the darker parts of the wizarding world. Let's begin by opening your books. Since this is the first day, put your wands away.
