Heya Newbies! Welcome to Hogwarts! Let me show you guys around.

[ Rika is giving a tour of the most important parts of Hogwarts. It's a little odd that there are so many older new students, and that so many are in the castle before classes officially begin.]

[ She leads people through the most important parts of the castle. Throughout the tour, she brings up random historical facts. She also gives some suggestions on navigation.]

Try to allow extra time when getting to class. Sometimes the stairs move, when it's really inconvenient.

[There is a wide grin and bright eyes as the shadow drops down from the ceiling. Yuffie likes wandering around after dark. It helps her keep her ninja skills sharp. She's cool with learning magic if she has too but she'll never forget where she's from.]

[ Rika was a bit surprised at the ninja seeming to appear out of nowhere.]

[ Then she tries to look stern and teacherlike, but she's not really mature enough to pull it off.]

Not with students. You're one of the new ones, aren't you?

But! I'm also a princess and don't you want to make visiting dignitaries feel at home?

[She smiles, placing her hands on her hips.]

Doesn't mean you can break the rules of whatever land you're visiting.

[ Rika being out drinking is actually not against the rules, since she's an adult. Curfew doesn't apply to teachers.]

Yes, but I'm 17 and in Wutai it means I can drink.

[She smiles. Yuffie doesn't know the European drinking age.]

It's 18 in the UK.

[ Though, people as young as 16 could have weaker alcoholic beverages when accompanied by an adult.]

20 in Japan.

Which means it's okay.

[Yuffie can just steal the bottle from the woman's hand though she's more entertained by the idea of having it handed to her. Besides, she doesn't really see anything wrong with drinking.]

Nuh uh. You're still underaged by the laws here.

[ If Rika wasn't in a position of authority, she wouldn't be as worried about giving beer to someone slightly underaged. An open can of beer could easily spill.]

[Yuffie pouts, looks like she'll just have to find something to drink without the teachers help.]

Awww, you're no fun.

[She also doesn't seem to concerned with this woman being a teacher.]

Miss Rika? Sensei? Do you know if there's an infirmary in this school or something?

[He figured he might as well tag along for the tour, but he was not looking forward to going back to the aviary at the end of the day thanks to his status as 'pet' rather than student. At least he might be able to steal an empty cot during the night.]

That's actually next on this tour! Pay attention, peeps!

With so many Newbies learning magic, well, accidents happen.

[She leads everyone to the infirmary, while adding more miscellaneous historical facts. She wonders how a human can be someone's pet. She might have to talk to the headmaster about this.]

[Kaoru was always one who was out during curfew and tonight was no exception. As he came out of a secret passage he nearly bumped into the teacher and simply froze in place. Please don't yell at him.]

[ She's not going to yell. Instead, she gives him a somewhat evil looking smile.]

Hitachiin-kun, would you mind helping me with a little project?

[He doesn't like that look. He and his brother gave that look also and it was never for anything good... for others.]

What... exactly is the project?

I have some fashion magazines, I'd like you to go through.

...Why exactly do you want me to go through them? What are you looking for?

I'd like opinions from an expert. My class covers all parts of Muggle culture.

[he was at least get comfortable now to be open about it.]

[She can't help try and listen, but she didn't quite understand why some of the things existed, so raising her hand slightly, she wanted to ask.]

I don't quite understand why the stairs need to move. Can you explain that?

It was Rowena Ravenclaw's idea. She liked challenging people. Kinda like the puzzle parts in adventure video games or platformers.

[ Not all students know what videogames are.]

[Which is why she is not a Ravenclaw most likely. Not just because she isn't the smartest.]

Yeah, I getcha. Some of those puzzles can be annoyingly tricky.

Telephones are what Muggles use for long distance communication. There are currently portable varieties that can also function as cameras. Using those to take self portrait photos is a rather popular activity.

No I know what telephones are, but there are portable telephones? How would you take pictures with a telephone....

Yep, now there are devices called smart phones. Totally wireless and portable. They contain cameras, and you can play games on them.

[ She brings out her phone]

I'd demonstrate its functions, but magic keeps it from working here.
