You're a wizard, __! [OPEN LOG]

It doesn't matter what you were doing before you wake up here, how you managed to get here at all, or where you arrived at. All that mattered now was that you're suddenly in a new location and people are so insistent that you're a wizard. Whether or not that sinks in just yet, you may as well go through the motions and humor whomever -- or whatever -- brought you here.

Here are a few prompts to get you started, but there's no requirement to use any of the given prompts. If you feel that you would like to use something besides the prompts that are given, you're more than welcome to do so.

Also, there's this nifty little post to introduce who you are to the others out of character, so don't forget to check it out!

Prompts

Prompt A; Okay so maybe being dropped off in a bustling street in front of some old, broken down looking building isn't the best way to start your day, but inside there seems to be a number of curious customers. Given the state of the building, this place seems pretty busy otherwise. The Leaky Cauldron huh...? Guess there's no time to ponder where that is, because the man behind the bar seems particularly interested in you. Soon enough, he's leading you to a location. Great, maybe some answers... until you come to a brick wall...

Great. What are you supposed to do at a brick wall? Surprise! After a few taps on the bricks, there's suddenly a pathway opening up and then... another street? What's going on?

Prompt B; Well now that you've been taken to a place called "Diagon Alley", you seem to be left there by the man who was supposedly going to help you out. If you're lucky enough, a tall man with a bushy beard might happen to come to the rescue. All this talk about being a witch/wizard.... Are these people out of their minds? Clearly they don't think they are, because he'll happily help you find your school supplies and books.

Or maybe you decided to wonder around by yourself and check out the shops after figuring things out from the other people on the street going through the same process. Just be careful not to carelessly use up all of the money that's saved in your vaults in Gringotts though.

Prompt C; Nine and Three Quarters..... Supposedly you need to get to Platform Nine and Three Quarters, but everyone is telling you that it doesn't exist. How can it not exist when so many people were looking for it? Have people been playing with you for a fool? Well, that seems to be the case until you notice people running into a.... Were they running into a brick wall? That's completely stupid but yet... they disappeared? Apparently you must be stupid for trying it, but somehow or another it works out and... There's more people with trunks and supplies like you have. More importantly as a train that wasn't there before.

Hogwarts Express.

Once on the train, finding a place to sit might be a pain depending on how long it takes for you to find it, but why not make a few new friends and maybe try to find out just what's going on? Meanwhile there is a trolley going around for anyone who wants a snack.

Prompt D;  Boats.... Why did it have to be boats? And didn't you refuse to put on those robes that you were required to buy? Why has your clothing disappeared in substitution for these robes? Just don't rock the boat. Pretty sure the others riding with you won't be happy if you tip it over. At least land seems to be coming closer along with a giant castle.

Prompt E; After being sorted into your houses and sitting at your respective tables, you'll be given more freedom to move about and talk than you have been this entire time. Use that time to figure out if anyone else was in the same predicament as you are. Surely you can't be the only one confused. And this large spread of food that never seems to run out is a bit too tempting to decline.

Or maybe you've already returned to your new dorm common rooms? Take your pick.

[Okay, now Roxas is really confused. Consider snacks forgotten for the moment.]

How'd you get on the train then?

[It's not accusatory but honestly curious. He's not sure if he needs to find a prefect or something.]

[He does recall that stuck thing he had been made to buy for some reason, but he didn't actually know what it did until now.]

I have one, but I just assumed it was a stick or something until now.

[He did question it a bit when one was shoved in his direction at the time, but he never felt like he needed it.]

I actually wonder a lot of things about all of this really.

[Roxas really isn't sure what to make of all this, but something tells him he better fill this guy in before they get to the school.]

Okay, so you have a wand. That means that you're a wizard and can use magic. Like the spell I was doing earlier.

This train's going to Hogwarts, which is a school for wizards.

I gotta admit that this feels kinda weird explaining all this since you don't look like a first year.

[That... made sense? He was told he was meant to come here and such. He figured he'd have a lot of learn and maybe it was better to explain his situation. Or try to at least.]

Well... If I have to be honest, magic is very different where I was before.

[He wondered if that would make sense to anyone.]

So it's fine to think it's werid, but how one learns is by listening to others.

Where were you before?

[Admittedly, Roxas doesn't know a lot about magic outside of Britain. For all he knows, it's completely different.]

Before arriving here, I was in Japan.

[And before that he knew he came from Egypt, but didn't think that was the point of the question right about now.]

That's...a long way off. You're in Great Britain now. Hogwarts is in Northern Scotland.

But yeah, it's a school that teaches magic, so like, spells and potions and stuff like that.

[Give him a moment. When one lives in ones heart for so long and never really went outside both of where he lived... he needed time to let it sink in. Though interesting as that was, he still didn't get why he was here or why he had been told to come because he was a wizard, which was an odd name for someone who can do magic.]

I can understand why one would need to learn magic, but I never expected school to be a thing. [His other half usually went to school to learn other things, or try and learn. He wasn't the best student after all.]

I think it's so that we're able to control our magic and actually be able to use it. Otherwise it can cause a lot of trouble.

[Especially when he was younger, Roxas was good at accidentally exploding things.]

I think there's some people who don't attend and get homeschooled, but most people got to Hogwarts. They say it's probably the best school.

You mean there are other schools like this?

[He should have known really, there are many different schools after all back in Japan, why should this be any different.]

It's... actually quite interesting and I do thank you for explaining things to me. I owe you one.

Oh sure, there's ones like Beaubatons or Durmstrang, but they're more on the continent and a bit more hidden.

[At least, from what he knows. And they really only show up around the Triwizard Tournament anyway.]

Ah, I will make sure to find you if I do. I'm Yugi and I don';t have a house or year yet.

[Because this is his first time here and he still doesn't understand why, but he came because he wondered if there would be answers to what questions he might have.]

...it's hard to say what year you'd be in but you'll probably be sorted once we get to Hogwarts. That'll tell you what house you're in. Your house is where you sleep and who you have classes with. Stuff like that.

You'll probably get the full explanation from one of the professors.

[He just nods slightly. Okay that seemed simple enough, although the whole sorting thing was kind of new to him.]

I should get moving along...Trying to find somewhere to sit on this train. But thank you again for the help and sorry for bumping into you to begin with.
