You're a wizard, __! [OPEN LOG]

It doesn't matter what you were doing before you wake up here, how you managed to get here at all, or where you arrived at. All that mattered now was that you're suddenly in a new location and people are so insistent that you're a wizard. Whether or not that sinks in just yet, you may as well go through the motions and humor whomever -- or whatever -- brought you here.

Here are a few prompts to get you started, but there's no requirement to use any of the given prompts. If you feel that you would like to use something besides the prompts that are given, you're more than welcome to do so.

Also, there's this nifty little post to introduce who you are to the others out of character, so don't forget to check it out!

Prompts

Prompt A; Okay so maybe being dropped off in a bustling street in front of some old, broken down looking building isn't the best way to start your day, but inside there seems to be a number of curious customers. Given the state of the building, this place seems pretty busy otherwise. The Leaky Cauldron huh...? Guess there's no time to ponder where that is, because the man behind the bar seems particularly interested in you. Soon enough, he's leading you to a location. Great, maybe some answers... until you come to a brick wall...

Great. What are you supposed to do at a brick wall? Surprise! After a few taps on the bricks, there's suddenly a pathway opening up and then... another street? What's going on?

Prompt B; Well now that you've been taken to a place called "Diagon Alley", you seem to be left there by the man who was supposedly going to help you out. If you're lucky enough, a tall man with a bushy beard might happen to come to the rescue. All this talk about being a witch/wizard.... Are these people out of their minds? Clearly they don't think they are, because he'll happily help you find your school supplies and books.

Or maybe you decided to wonder around by yourself and check out the shops after figuring things out from the other people on the street going through the same process. Just be careful not to carelessly use up all of the money that's saved in your vaults in Gringotts though.

Prompt C; Nine and Three Quarters..... Supposedly you need to get to Platform Nine and Three Quarters, but everyone is telling you that it doesn't exist. How can it not exist when so many people were looking for it? Have people been playing with you for a fool? Well, that seems to be the case until you notice people running into a.... Were they running into a brick wall? That's completely stupid but yet... they disappeared? Apparently you must be stupid for trying it, but somehow or another it works out and... There's more people with trunks and supplies like you have. More importantly as a train that wasn't there before.

Hogwarts Express.

Once on the train, finding a place to sit might be a pain depending on how long it takes for you to find it, but why not make a few new friends and maybe try to find out just what's going on? Meanwhile there is a trolley going around for anyone who wants a snack.

Prompt D;  Boats.... Why did it have to be boats? And didn't you refuse to put on those robes that you were required to buy? Why has your clothing disappeared in substitution for these robes? Just don't rock the boat. Pretty sure the others riding with you won't be happy if you tip it over. At least land seems to be coming closer along with a giant castle.

Prompt E; After being sorted into your houses and sitting at your respective tables, you'll be given more freedom to move about and talk than you have been this entire time. Use that time to figure out if anyone else was in the same predicament as you are. Surely you can't be the only one confused. And this large spread of food that never seems to run out is a bit too tempting to decline.

Or maybe you've already returned to your new dorm common rooms? Take your pick.

[ Prompt C ]
[Just what in the world is going on here? Ciel didn't particularly enjoy being dragged around like a rag doll, much less being told what to do with very little information in return. The shopping he could handle, but being expected to find a platform that doesn't exist?

Just what do they take them for? And Sebastian doesn't seem to be answering him....

Watching people run into walls wasn't exactly something that Ciel cared much about, but seeing people actually manage to go through them and disappear.. That was something he couldn't turn a blind eye to.]

What in the devil....?

[He must be out of his mind to even consider it, but seeming as his own search wasn't giving him that many results... In we go!

And now there's an older style train... Or at least older than some of the stuff he's seen thus far.... Here's one richly dressed boy confused among the many other families who had found their way here.

After boarding, the prospect of finding a seat is proving more difficult than he'd assumed it would. If he wants answers, he'll go along for the ride, but he didn't really want to have to deal with anyone. Finding an empty compartment, he slid inside and plopped down onto the seat next to the window.]

Sebastian, you'd better answer me soon. I'm sick of playing these games.

[Said to nobody in particular.]

[ Prompt E ]

[He had been hoping for more answers than he'd been given, but it seemed like he wasn't the only one thoroughly confused about all of this. And these robes that he'd been changed into. Yes, he remembered people nagging him to change on the train and he considered it, but he figured he could do that later. Well, turns out that that wasn't an option. At least whatever had caused this change of apparel -- magic -- allowed him to keep his eye patch on.

So there were four houses here...? Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin... Apparently -- according to the talking hat -- he was sorted into Gryffindor. All of this was hurting his brain and despite taking on strange tasks that had supernatural events occur, magic was something that he hadn't really been to exposed to in this nature. But there was magic everywhere.

Staring at his wand, he was sitting in the commons area after supper. Supper just wasn't the same when it wasn't Sebastian making it for him, which was saying something. And he would love to have a nice cup of good quality Earl Gray, but that seemed to be out of the question for the time being.

Letting out a small sigh after being lost in thought...]

I guess I'll have to find out more tomorrow...

[Another year, another journey on the train, which wielded really no excitement. Unless of course he decided to play a prank. But in all honesty that was more something his brother would do than him, but never the less he wondered down the halls and had been quick to find an compartment. Although the moment he opened it, he realized that well there was already someone else in it.]

Either you like being alone, or you have no friends. So which is it?

[Rather blunt and very to the point, but he wasn't asking for any reason.]

[The moment that the compartment doors open, Ciel glanced over to see who it was. Someone he'd never seen before... He didn't want to deal with other people, and more than that, this person was cheeky. He managed to remain calm though.]

Both. I have no need for friends.

[After all, he just wanted to figure out what was going on and then leave.]

I get you.

[He understood that need for friends wasn't exactly something he wanted, he had his brother that was what mattered to him. Everyone else was just idiots.]

People can be idiots so really one can only rely on themselves after all.

[It was odd though that there was someone who might think the same way really.]

[That was a response Ciel didn't expect to hear. Most people would have said that everyone needed friends or something along those lines. To hear someone else agree to his sentiment to some degree was different.]

In the end, the only person you can trust is yourself.

[.... And the fact that everyone else to him were just chess pawns and he was the one pulling the strings, but he's not going to say that so bluntly.]

[He nodded slightly, still standing by the door. He had to admit he was always surprised when there was someone who shared that thought, after all it was a rare one really.]

That and if your like me, your own brother. [But that was just him in his own weird little way. Moving to put his hands behind his head, he was trying to figure out this guy.]

You know, I've not seen you around here before? Did you get transferred here or are you a first year?

I don't really have any family to rely on anymore. [Maybe have something more to it, but he's not going to start a sob story about his family was killed.] That's... hard to say. I haven't been told much besides getting the letter and then being told to buy supplies from a list that was given to me.

I am the Earl of Phantomhive, Ciel Phantomhive. [Since introductions are probably in order.]

Usually by now people have been told, unless you were Muggleborn.

[He believes that could be the case, but at the matter of the others name he pauses. That seemed like a rather fancy title. A lord or in this case an Earl. That was fancy and that meant he was like him in a sense, had decent amount of money.]

Kaoru Hitachiin. I don't have a fancy title like that since I wasn't originally from England. [He was transferred here instead for reasons.]

[That should answer your question. But he does remember his manners as a Phantomhive.]

It's a pleasure to meet you. [Though said half-assed.] Where were you from?

...You've lived under a rock haven't you? A muggle is none magic folk. They don't have a single magical bone in there body.

[He spoke sound like he was explaining it to some child, which he felt like he was really.]

As from where. I came from Japan, my brother and I were transferred over here to England for reasons. What about you, I assume you got your letter which meant you were in England already?

[He hears that tone of voice and he doesn't appreciate it, but he seems to have the information that he might need...]

Yes, I live a little outside of London. And these muggles... Are they aware of witches and wizards existing under their noses?

[Though he's still skeptical.]

[Kaoru never thought to ask that one, sure he had heard some shit had gone down some years ago, but he was never sure if that was actually public or just something that they managed to contain. He kind of got bored after a while.]

Some are aware, I think. Those who have witches or wizards for children and those that are called...Squibs, I believe know. As for the rest of the world, I cannot say.

[Nor does he overly care really.]

Hm.... [So it's safe to assume that they can somehow stay under the radar.] Is there a good number of witches and wizards then?

[Namine opens the compartment curiously stopping when she spots the boy.]

Oh, I'm sorry. Have you seen a girl, my age with red hair?

[It isn't much of a description but Namine is looking for her sister and she's getting a little nervous not having her twin around.]

[Ciel wasn't too interested in making friends in general, but he couldn't exactly just be rude for no reason either. After all, Phantomhives were known for their hospitality.]

No, I'm sorry. I haven't seen her. I'll keep a look out.

[really_sketchy]

[Namine sighs softly and then nods. She looks as if she's about to leave before peeking her head back in the cabin.]

You're not alone are you?

[She isn't sure if friend would be the word to use here but she thought that maybe he could use some company. He looks younger than her so it's always possible this is his first time to Hogwarts; maybe she can help?]

I am.

[It was said simply, but he didn't seem particularly bothered by that. Still, if she wanted to sit down, he wouldn't keep her from doing so.]

Is it alright if I join you?

[She doesn't want to just invite herself in and if he asks her to leave then she will.]

Sure.

[Gesturing as if saying to sit down. He wasn't going to just tell her to leave if he had no reason to. He's dealt with worse people and she doesn't seem like a bad person.]

[She slowly moves to sit, placing her sketchbook on her lap as she positions herself across from the young boy.]

I'm Namine, A fifth year.

Ciel Phantomhive. [Leaving off his usual title of Earl because this didn't seem to call for a formal introduction.] Excuse me but... What exactly do you mean by a "fifth year"?

[Namine flashes him a gentle smile.]

It's my fifth year at Hogwarts. Hogwarts has first years to seventh years but usually the last two are studying and taking tests and then determining your future.

You must be a first year then. [Her gaze softens.] If you have any questions I'd be happy to help.

I see.... The first being how exactly did I get here. All I remember is being brought here randomly and then pushed to do what others said with no choice but to follow them.

You mean onto the platform?

[She isn't sure what part he's talking about because people could be a little pushy when they think you need help. Naminé images a cute little kid like him looking lost, anyone would lend a hand.]

All I remember is waking up in London and then given orders that I had to follow til I was here.

[And Ciel doesn't like that. Not when he's not usually the pawn in this game of chess.]
