No specific time frame, other than summer break.
A. Just Like a Circus.
[ Diagon Alley. No matter what time of year it was, this particular part of the wizard world seemed to never stop being busy. The streets were thick with people, some he recognized from various places (dirty dealings or school, take your pick) and some were strangers. But it was the two rambunctious children that raced squealing past him, their mother yelling after them to behave or their father would be cross with them, that caught his attention.
It wasn't a forethought, per say. But somewhere in Gareki's mind, he wondered if he could have ever had that kind of normalcy in his own youth. Instead, his mind was filled with the knowledge that his parents sold him off and that he had just enough good fortune to wind up with adoptive siblings, albeit very poor ones that often left him feeling guilty.
The children giggled despite their mother, and he silently stuck his hands in his pockets as he sidestepped their angry mother, keeping himself forward toward Gringotts. ]
B. Too Hot, It's Really Too Hot!
[ The thing about summer was that while Gareki didn't mind the heat, it also didn't mean he liked it. Some days just made him feel like he was boiling from the inside out, and today was one of them. This only meant he was in a miserable mood, wishing more than ever it would cool down already. ]
Tch. Even a little rain would make this better.
[ Sweat beaded on his brow, leaving him to reach up to wipe at it with his forearm, a small disgusted grumble following as he rolled his shorts higher and slipped his feet out of his shoes. He waded into a fountain, not caring how it would look to anyone. ]
C. You're the City Lights
[ It's night time in the middle of downtown London. If Gareki bothered to look at his mobile, it would probably tell him that it was sometime around 9 PM. Not that time really mattered, when he promised to be there in ten minutes.
While the daytime was uneventful, Gareki had business now. Business of the strangely legitimate kind. Sort of.
In a dark alley, he rested against a brick wall waiting. And, within minutes he was greeted by a man with mousy hair and a shifty nature about him that set him apart from Gareki. The meeting didn't take long, but there was an exchange of money for a slip of paper, and a promise that Gareki would get his shipment of phones by the end of the week.
Gareki pocketed the paper and made his way back out, down the street. ]

Circus, obviously. :D
He misses Hogwarts. He misses his friends. He misses not having to deal with Hirato and Tsukitachi's antics each day. He loves them, by god, he does, but they are being more difficult than ever. Not to mention Hirato was not pleased with his marks this year and kept reminding Yogi that next year is his last and... and...
Yogi doesn't want that.
If he could, he would stay in Hogwarts forever. With his friends.
He sighs again, but then a familiar mop of black air catches his attention, momentarily distracting him.]
Garekiiiiiii~
[Radiant grin beaming on his face, he skips to where his best friend is, hugging him immediately.]
You could have told me you'd be outside today!
no subject
But he's not really in the mood for the cuddling, as if he's a damned teddybear, so he presses his hand roughly against the side of his friend's face and pushes.
Truly, he likes Yogi (in his own way) it's just he really isn't much for the physical affection in the first place, and Yogi tends to be so ready to hand it out. Or the force of those affections that often had him feeling like he was about to fall. ]
Get off me, you oaf.
[ At least he doesn't sound all that annoyed?? ]
no subject
I'm happy to see you! I missed you...
[Home is crazy as ever and he misses his friends from Hogwarts each day.]
Where are you heading?
no subject
He slides his hands into his pockets to look nonchalant and looks toward the bank, considering. Not that it was hard to reconsider, given he didn't want Yogi asking any unnecessary questions. ]
Nowhere important. [ Right now, anyway. ] Why are you around here anyway?
no subject
[For a moment, when Gareki asks that, Yogi looks like a kid caught stealing from the cookie jar, looking away and scratching his cheek.]
You know how it is... Home is being crazy...
[Of course it's nothing new here. Gareki knows the level of crazy Hirato and Tsukitachi can get, and if combined with Akari... No, Yogi isn't telling Gareki anything new, but still. It sorta feels awkward to be caught avoiding home, since it usually prompts weird looks and questions and Yogi still can't properly explain what makes him feel so awkward around home. Maybe the fact that he still can't figure out whether Hirato cares or not. Or maybe it's just Dr. Akari being scary.]
A-anyway, I just thought fresh air might be good. And you know I can't really sit around for too long...
no subject
Come on, then. [ He starts the opposite way of Gringotts. ] We're leaving Diagon Alley. Don't be an idiot about anything.
no subject
A-ah... Where are we going?
[He asks with unconcealed curiosity. Where else aside Diagon alley was a good place to hang out for them in London? He completely ignores, or maybe fails to hear the comment about his intelligence, his ear well-trained and completely used to the name calling. He might be pretty much convinced at this point, it's the way Gareki shows affection. And he sorta welcomes the distraction. Lately, it feels like his mind might explode sometimes, with all these thoughts, questions and insecurities floating through it. Sometimes... Sometimes e feels like there's a part, a big, important part, of him missing, but when he's with Gareki, he's calm.]
no subject
[ There's probably cause for telling Yogi where they're going, if only because it's non-magical. But in a day and age where people vlogged down the street and no one paid vloggers any mind, it seemed safe to assume that the blonde's weirdness wouldn't be looked at too closely.
Gareki lead them to the famous brick wall, the divide between muggle and wizard world in London, and tapped on the bricks. Soon, the wall opened and Gareki moved past it. ]
Have you ever been out here before?
[ "Here" in this meant the heart of London. ]
no subject
[Yogi is a little confused and surprised as to why Gareki would lead them there of all places, but ten again, he knows his friend's obsession and prowess with things muggle, so he doesn't question it much. It just surprises him.]
Ah... Uhm... A few times we passed, I suppose?
[He says, his face slightly twisting with memories, that are nostalgic, but kinda hurt as well.]
When I first... When I started to live with Hirato and Tsukitachi, they took me with them to the Ministry and we went a few times through the phone booth. And when we go to see Dr. Akari at St. Mungo's, we usually apparate to a quiet alley a few blocks away and walk. And I know it well around our apartment. But other than that, not so much.
[When his foster dads took him in, he already had been 10. They didn't want to leave him alone at home, so they took him with them to work to babysit him, before he started Hogwarts. And after that, it was only the summer break, where he really had chances to spend a lot of time out and ten it was usually wit his school friends, which most of the time meant they stayed in the magical world.
They still won't tell him what happened. He's finishing school next year and he as no idea about the first ten years of his life.
It's not that he feels he lacks something, or needs a compensation. Those two are crazy and weird, but he has everything he needs. He's grateful and he loves them both, even if the scare him sometimes. Especially Hirato. He knows they probably want to protect him. He knows that, as it made him lose his memory, it must have been pretty bad. But he's finishing school next summer and it's a part of his life. A part of his life he knows nothing about. 10 years. And entire decade erased. It's not that he wants to know. It's not that he needs to know where he came from, or needs to know who his parents are. He knows all that. He might be born on Iceland, but he's from Belgravia, London and his parents are Hirato and Tsukitachi. It's not even curiosity.
He just needs to know.
He knows that simply by how much it's been occupying his mind lately, and by how irritated Hirato is lately, because of the frequency Yogi asks about it.
But he voices none of that.
Instead he beams at his friend, pushes his stupid insecurities away, and enjoys the prospect of an adventure.]
I'm sure you've been several times though!
[He says, as he lays his hands on Gareki's shoulder, excited for the new experience.]
no subject
Maybe bringing Yogi to the muggle world was a bad idea. Maybe it was letting him get too close. ]
You could say that.
[ At least he doesn't shrug Yogi's hand off his shoulder? ]
There's a ferris wheel on the Thames that gives a nice view of the city. Want to go there?
no subject
[Yogi asks, smile still in place, as he follows Gareki out. He's never cared about blood status, or background, thus he never asked, but Gareki always tinkers with one thing or other, and visits the Muggle World, so that's why, Yogi asks.]
Did you grow up a Muggle?
[But it all becomes uninteresting, when Gareki makes the mistake of mentioning a Ferris Wheel.
Yogi's eyes light up like stars and everything ceases to matter.]
Yes! Yes, I do! Can we?!
no subject
There was a fraction of a smile tugging at his lips as he started toward the nearest Underground tunnel. ]
You're just like a kid, of course you'd like that idea. [ He's teasing, no real inflection of sincerity in his tone. ] Idiot.
[ The last word, was, obviously, said somewhat fondly. ]
no subject
There's nothing wrong with being a child!
[He exclaims and tries not to think too much, that he'll be 18 in 7 months and in this time in exactly a year he'll be out of school and probably still won't have an idea about his past. No, he definitely doesn't think any of those insignificant things.
Instead he opts for wrestling Gareki for the 'insult', grinning from ear to ear.]
no subject
Instead of getting aggravated by it all, he bats Yogi's hands away with an annoyed grunt. ]
Stop that, or I'll leave you alone in the middle of the city to find your way back.
no subject
So~ What have you been up to since school year ended?
[He asks conversationally.]
no subject
[ All assumption and all fairly accurate on Gareki's part. If you could consider his tinkering being studies. However, what he isn't really saying is that he's also been working for cash. Working to keep himself and family above water, despite not seeing them. What's more, he had to find funds toward the device he was building. ]
I better not need to tutor someone in a higher grade than me when we get back.
[ Gareki turns to a machine set into a wall and starts pressing buttons. He orders two tickets, pays for them, and then hands one to Yogi. ]
Don't lose this.
no subject
That's not true! I so have!
[Except, okay, it wasn't a school book he touched, but his favorite anthology of folk tales. It's like fairy tales, only better. More... thrilling, is perhaps a good word. Terrifying at times and intense, when you let your imagination loose.
He smiles sheepishly and rubs with his index finger under his nose.]
You forget this will be my last year. Hirato wouldn't survive it, if I needed tutoring from you.
[He eyes the small piece of paper with curiosity and genuine interest, twisting it and twirling it in his hand, but doesn't let it go, trying to ignore how strange it feels, having said those fated words. 'Last year'... It really is the last, isn't it?]
Where are you staying?
[He asks, to distract himself from the looming issue, but also because he genuinely wants to know. Gareki never mentions any relatives and Yogi sorta worries.]
I could come visit and we can hang out.
no subject
But there was something a little liberating and sad about being Yogi free on his own final year at Hogwarts, now that the older boy mentioned it. He pushed the thought away with a soft snort as he moved through the undergound, letting the ticket machine suck the ticket up and spit it back out. Following that, he moved to the other side expectantly, Yogi at least smart enough to follow his lead. ]
I don't want to tell you where I stay.
[ Note that he didn't say 'live' or 'home'. ]
no subject
He sits down next to Gareki, still surveying the now signed ticket, before looking at his friend.]
You could just come stay with us.
[He says without batting an eyelash. He worries and he knows his guardians won't mind. No matter how they are, neither Hirato nor Tsukitachi could leave a child alone. Not to make assumptions, but...]
It could be fun!
no subject
[ Gareki snorts at the idea, thinking it would seem more like a nightmare than fun. But then, he also really enjoys his space. With Yogi around and his guardians making assumptions, it felt more restrictive than anything.
Once the device he was tinkering with was done, he would probably give Yogi one and tell him to give him a call if he ever wanted to hang out. But, that also depended on the shipment of phones he was waiting on and how well everything worked. ]
I'll send an owl when I want to get together.
no subject
Maybe not.
[His eyes are twinkling with amusement, when he looks at Gareki again.]
But they have their moments. Besides, I'm pretty sure they are both sadists, who get their twisted pleasure from other's suffering and misfortune.
[Especially Hirato. Though Tsukitachi is usually pretty chill.
He beams at Gareki and nods.]
I'm almost always outside, so you can come find me as well. I usually have fun in the Diagon Alley.
no subject
[ Whether his response is to Yogi being in Diagon Alley or his guardians being sadists was left for interpretation. At their core, Gareki knows that they're taking care of Yogi so he doesn't hate them or anything. He's just not an up close fan, their mothering extended to outsiders as it was.
Gareki's saved from further talking as the train pulls up and a sea of people step out. Without thinking, he grabs Yogi's arm to make sure they're not separated and leads them in when it's safe. He immediately makes for one of the seats and slides into it. ]
no subject
Huh? Uh... Gareki?
[But before he has time to realize what's happening, he's sitting next to his friend, face strangely warm. Oh. Okay. Gareki just got them on a train. At least he thinks it's a train. It looks nothing like the Hogwarts Express, he thinks, looking around, before finally his eyes land on Gareki again and he smiles.]
I didn't know Muggle trains were this shiny!
