Two dorks going on a first date. Closed to Namine

[He did say they would go on a date and wile he had managed to decide what is going to go on, he was still rather nervous to say the least. Well on the bright side it's not like they were going to do anything they shouldn't, but still... a first date was still a big thing.

Leaving the Slytherin dorms after saying bye to Hikaru, he had started to make his way to the stairs to go up to the basement area. He had told her to wait for him close to the stairs to go to the main floor and he hoped that she was there right now.]

[he nodded slightly, he'll leave it at that for that conversation at least, but now it left him with soemthing else. What to talk about next. It was much easier to talk to his brother than anyone else because he knew what his brother liked. He assumed they could talk about art, maybe? That would do.]

So..How is your drawings going?

[Art is a good place to start.]

I'm trying a lot of new things. I want to see if it can lead me into a career. I'd like to travel too and maybe see what I can find.

[She lifts her tea to her lips.]

Are you going to go into fashion like your family?

[devilishkaoru]

Ah, my family doesn't all do fashion. Just my mother. My grandmother...did something with enchanting plants and the like, which is why I do well in herbology.

Not sure what my father does.

[he forgets he is ever there sometimes, if he had to be honest.]

But...I might, but I have options.

What do you like best then?

[She hadn't known about his grandmother and the thought of Kaoru working with plants makes her smile.]

Since pranking people won't count as a career, unless I work in a joke shop or something, I guess what my mother does.

[Though working at a joke shop was tempting sometimes, but he was use to a certain life style.]

I really like the design of yours I’ve seen.

[She remarks with a bright smile, her fork piercing her cake and taking another bite. She eats the sweet slowly, savoring every piece of it.]

You mean that one I still haven't managed to finish?

[He was good at the drawing portion, but not the actual making part of it just yet.]

[Namine laughs softly.]

Yes. I didn’t know if you were still making it or not.

[She’d been too nervous to ask.]

I'll probably focus on it more after exams and school is done.

[Because he knows he should be studying soon either way.]

Those are coming up, so that is super fun.

[Namine nods.]

I'm a little worried.

[She places her fork down, her cake now gone and sips calmly at her tea.]

What are you worried about?

[He knew he wasn't too worried at least because he knew no matter what he'll end up still doing well in the status he was born into.]

Tests.

[She replies over the crest of her tea up, her baby blue eyes staring at him with the hint of a nervous smile.]

I need to do well.

Is it because you need good grades to do the job you want in the future?

[He wasn't exactly being serious in the matter since he was pretty sure for what she wanted to do, it wasn't such a big deal to do well.]

Yes.

[Not that she has bad grades but she needs Exceeds Expectation in more than she thought. She wonders how each year does as a whole and if she has a chance compared to others. She isn’t dumb and she’s good at memorizing things but she isn’t the best at taking tests. Naminé prefers writing paper over tests.]

Well, that’s part of it. I know my grandmother wants me to do well.

I guess that makes sense.

[He didn't have as much pressure on him as many other people did, do he knew when to relax at least.]

I guess I'm not use to know people who have pressure on them to do well.

Really?

[Namine looks up at him with a quizzical expression.]

Doesn't your brother want to do well?

[devilishkaoru]

He's like me in that area. Unlike other people my brother and I don't get that pressure to succeed. We do well considering we get decent grades, but we don't have that pressure to have to do it.

[He smiled slightly.]

You're lucky then.

[Namine can't really understand that but it explains a lot about how they both approach school.]

I bet you can do whatever you want anyway.

[She smiles.]

It's because you're really amazing kaoru.

[devilishkaoru]

Yeah, but it had it's downsides.

[It made him wonder a lot and made him who he was before this year of school. But he figured at least now they are still changing and getting better.]

Uh... thanks. Your pretty amazing too.

[Namine laughs softly and places down her tea cup.]

What do you want to do next?

We can always go look at art stuff.

[Or the shop that sells that kind of thing anyway. He had put his cup down.]

We can. I'm actually fine on art supplies but I can always use more canvas's.

[There is also a very fancy paint brush she'd been saving up for.]

But what would you like to see?

I don't really have anything I want to see.

[He had made sure to put some money on the table, before waiting for the other to get ready.]

[Namine stands and brushes her fingers across the flat of her dress. She nods her head and then turns towards the door, following Kaoru out into the street. The sun feels blinding after the dim hazy light and Namine had to shield her eyes from the light until her eyes could properly adjust.

She turns towards Kaoru, her expression curious.]

If you were to have a picture of anything. What would it be?

[Squinting slightly at the light, he was trying to figure out which way they were meant to be going.]
