Nice & Warm / Teachers Drinking
A) Inside the castle, in front of a fireplace
[The one thing that Sano absolutely hated about Britain, was the weather. In his free time, besides running, Sano liked taking walks around the castle, but this weather was not walk-friendly. Times like these he missed Japan's sunshine and warmth. It wasn't that he couldn't deal with a little cold, it was the wet, morose, yucky part he had a problem with.
It was really no surprise to find him huddled in front of one of the many fire places these days, a steaming hot black tea next to him - may or may not be spiked with Irish Whiskey, or sake, reading the newspaper, or the "Quidditch Weekly" magazine, scowling about his former team's score. When he used to keep for them, they had a far better score. The new Keeper sucked.
Come to think of it, the Quidditch season would start soon. The schedule's been released already and the teams were working hard. The first game was around the corner and he looked forward to it already. He was wondering who would win~]
B) TEACHER'S DRINKING PARTY / Three Broomsticks (Closed, I suppose?)
[Because the days were getting colder and there were less and less things to do, one nice evening Sano decided, that it was time to start what he called "the party season". Meaning, snatch your colleagues, drag them to the Three Broomsticks andget them drunk make them have a little old-fashioned fun.]
One more round!
[He was paying it all and it would cost him his entire pay, but it wasn't like he had any big expenses this month (aside Halloween) and his bills were paid already. And socializing was important, especially between colleagues. His brother would probably call it team-building, or something like that. Sano called it "being a little crazy from time to time doesn't hurt".]

Tokiya was just passing by, in all honesty. He had a stack of papers under one arm, and his quills in a neatly stitched satchel for safekeeping. However, he doesn't quite have anything to say to the Professor just yet, so he'll just stop walking for a few seconds and watch. ]
no subject
Ah, Ichinose!
[He straightened a little and made place, in case the student wanted to join him for a little bit.]
How's it going?
no subject
Fine, sir.
[ But at least he's sitting down. Not letting go of his things just yet, with his hands folded together neatly on his lap. ]
Are you invested in one of the teams?
no subject
How's practice going? Ready to win your first match?
[Not that Sano was rooting for either of the house teams, as they were all good and everyone had trained hard.
At the question he looks back at the magazine, with a small nostalgic smile.]
Ah, I have no bets placed, but... I like to keep up with how my old team's doing. Though, it looks pretty bleak. [He admits with a scowl followed by a small chuckle. Not the end of the world.] And you? Rooting for anyone?
no subject
The team is training as hard as we can. I am confident we will win.
[ At least, even if they lost, he could walk away knowing he did his utmost best.
He nods when Sano talks about his team, but says nothing. It isn't something he finds necessary to comment on. ]
Not at the moment. I find little time left in my schedule to devote to these pursuits.
no subject
I'm glad to hear that! Good luck!
[But, the stubborn part of him couldn't leave the letter part alone.]
It doesn't really cost much time. [He says with a smile.] I just check the newspaper each day and read how the matches went.
[Sometimes he went to see one, when he had the time, but usually he just read the report.]
'Sides, you need to relax sometimes as well. I understand NEWTs are hard and you need to prepare, but you've gotta chill as well, or else you're gonna exhaust yourself. You do something to relax?
no subject
I read, sir.
[ No comment on the relaxing. He had goals, after all - to graduate the best in his batch, and perhaps acquire a few other awards alongside that. All these accolades and grades aren't just going to fall into his lap if he sits around reading gossip instead of his homework. ]
no subject
You're gonna overwork your mind.
[He looked the student over again. Sitting straight as an arrow, hands neatly folded in the lap and his robes a perfect example of a neat cascade. Sano liked to put effort into his appearance as well, but he doubted he could do the same thing with his own robes.
Scratching the top of his head, this time he sighed for real.]
Seriously, you're more mature than me. [He gave the student a grin.] You should go out and have fun a little sometimes, fool around. It's gonna make the learning easier, you know.
no subject
The Muggles have recognized the benefits of exercise. It's a philosophy I can subscribe to.
[ If anything, they produced good athletes despite not having magic. It's commendable. ]
Sir, do you not find non-constructive 'fooling around' partial to danger?
[ This is said with airquotes, though the action is done in a rather stiff manner with his arms completely vertical in an attempt to inject some respectability into it. ]
People end up in the Infirmary all the time, especially if they do it when magic is involved.
no subject
Though, that might be a bit of too much for your first try. Besides... It wasn't exactly what Sano had meant with his words.]
My dad's an athlete. I could introduce you.
[The mumbled response is completely ironic. He's not had any contact with his father for over 10 years and has no idea where his old man even lived, or what he was up to.
He sighs. Again.]
Might be partial to danger, but only if you lose all control. Also depends on what you chose to do. It's not like you have to go around the castle, blowing stuff up. Look it's not about whether it's constructive, or not. It's about having fun and not think about work and assignments for a while. Whatever takes your mind off that and you enjoy it, is good.
[though he admitted that back in the day, he was one of those who would land themselves in the infirmary more often than not. Only to escape it at the next best opportunity, thought with a grin. Ah, youth.]
You're young. You get to do crazy stuff. Don't miss out.
no subject
I beg to differ.
[ It's interesting, how Sano seems to find his pragmatic attitude unusual. The other teachers all commended him for being focused and working hard. Was it not a good trait for someone aiming to reach the top? ]
You seem to be assuming that schoolwork is universally tedious. I have found that this is not the case for me, it is not wearisome as it is for my peers. I quite enjoy learning, to put it one way. The Slytherin Head of House has approved me for extended studies.
[ He's the sort of student who fits the perfect definition of one to a frightening T. ]
I understand your concerns, sir, but they would be better applied to the others instead.
no subject
But legilimency lessons had been long ago and Sano didn't make it a habit to read the minds of his students in casual conversations.
Besides, if he heard right, he'd been just told to mind his own business. By a student. He was too busy blowing a fuss over that. Invardly.]
Excuse me?
[No, getting into an argument with a student was bad. The Headmistress would kill him. He heaved yet another frustrated sigh. But if Ichinose was blunt he could be as well.]
I just think you're pretty much wasting your youth.
[But then again, who was he to question the decisions a student made about his life, right?]
But you're right. 'Tis not my concern, ain't it?
no subject
I appreciate your thoughts, sir.
[ It's hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or not, with how he remained serious all the time. ]
But I believe I have enough maturity [ echoing Sano's words earlier ] to have my own opinions.

B
I think if you order another round you might actually knock some teachers out.
no subject
No one's forcing them to pour it down!
[He says and down the rest of his whiskey, noting that it's gotten really hot in the room. Soon he'll be stripping down and dance on the table. He had an entire repertoire of Irish drinking songs, courtesy of his brother.]
'Sides, it ain't bad to know your limits.
no subject
It's hypnotic.
She hears Fai and Sano and turns, her cheeks tinted a light red from the alcohol. She's only had 3 glasses and it's just beginning to hit her.]
How do you know your limits?
no subject
Only by hitting it! [He gives her a wide grin.] Drink as much as you can and when you feel like a sprint to the toilett or a round of sleep at the table is a good idea, that's your limit.
So, chug down, Terra-san!
[He holds up his new glass - the bartender stopped asking a while ago and just kept them coming - in a toast.]
no subject
Well if you go around meowing is also a limit people tend to stop you drinking.
[That was taken from experience. he probably would have kept going if Kurogane hadn't been there.]
no subject
Meow?
[The Esper girl looks over at Fai testing his theory about meowing. It's a fun word to say and it brings a smile to her lips.]
Why is that?
no subject
Probably because usually people don't go around sounding like a cat.
[He answers terra-san's question.]
Haven't tried it yet, I must admit.
no subject
[He sure as heck doesn't a good portion of the time... When he can actually get drunk. He knew it was possible, but it wasn't always the case of it happening.]
no subject
I'll make sure to do it when I get drunk then.
[It's hard to tell if she's kidding.]
no subject
[Sano grinned.]
Whenever we went drinking with my mates, I'd usually be stripped off my shirt, have funny faces drawn on my stomach and do something that I called 'belly dance'.
[Not very close to the original thing, but it sufficed in a pub, he thought with a chuckle, before frowning in thought.]
Though, no one was really trying to stop me.
[It was when he had started whining, that people usually started to hide the whiskey from him. Not that he planned getting that far today. It was far too nice to turn it around because he couldn't have had a little measure.]
Ah, but I should keep my shirt, huh? Teachers aren't supposed to be half-naked, right?
[He was sure McGonagall would actually kill him, if he did. No matter. he still could paint on his stomach and dance. ...He was pretty tipsy already, huh? He should slow down, if his reputation as the mature, charming instructor wasn't supposed to take a dive today.]
no subject
[Though when one drinks more than he would eat, he feels like he built up some sort of immunity to it with some exceptions.]
Though since you haven't drunk much before, we'll go light on you at least.
no subject
I don't think taking off shirts is a good idea.
[The Esper girl doesn't really care what they choose to do but she knows the rules of the school and she's inclined to follow them.]
But I think you can both dance on the tables.
