A new beginning

[Terra has taken the time to explore the castle more, while getting to know her new duties here. She always had liked being close to the wilderness and this school was amiable in that regard. She walks along the lakes edge heading towards the forbidden forest. Her thin fingers are laced in front of her as she glances around the at the scene.

The breeze and nice and the air is clear. She's excited for classes but there is still some time until they begin.]

Classroom

[Terra isn't sure about her teaching abilities but She has always loved children and magic is something that courses through her very being. Her classroom is clean, the tomes organized in the two bookshelves that lined either side of the desk and to all appearances it looks empty.

The desk is placed so that it could look over the whole room, no matter what size. On the desk laid a cat with blond hair and startling purple eyes. It appears to be napping though looks can be deceiving. Behind the desk is a small raised stair case that leads to Terra's personal room.]

[Terra had been hoping to meet the teachers before classes started so he could possibly get some tips on how to improve. He was still somewhat mollified that he was placed into the 2nd year class despite his age.

He walks into the class and looks around, frowning.]

Is there no one here?

[He spies the cat and goes over, reaching out and petting it.]

Is your owner around here somewhere?

[The cat mews softly at his question, clearly she is present though more than that remains to be seen. The cat slowly rises from the desk, stretching its limbs and then shaking out its blonde fur. She jumps from the desk and carefully picks her way up the small stair case towards the back room. With a gentle nudge, she pushes the door open to slip through without so much as looking back at Terra.

There is a creaking sound as the door opens the rest of the way and a woman with mint green hair hurriedly steps down the staircase.]

Excuse me, I’m sorry.

[Her voice is soft and her eyes a stunning bright blue. It isn’t so obvious that she’s a teacher because it looks as if she’s the same age as Terra.]

Can I help you?

[She's very pretty, that's for sure. Terra isn't too bothered by the green hair, but her eyes throw him off a bit. They are rather intense. Despite her age, the room she came from tips him off.]

You must be the professor. I'm Terra. I just got here a few days ago. Which class is this?

[Her lips curl into a warm smile.]

Yes, this is Transfiguration. It's nice to meet you Terra.

[Her smile grows a little wider.]

My name is Terra as well though in the classroom it's Miss.Branford. Are you going to be taking Transfiguration?

[He nods. Somewhat not surprised he's met someone with a similar name.]

Yes, Miss Branford. It the class where you change objects into other objects, correct?

[Elizabeth was always wondering around every so often, mostly to try and find the right spot for what she had in mind and this time it was the trip to the lake. The water looked nice even with what lurked below, but would it really be the best idea for her to practice there? Beside she didn't have a rapier, so perhaps being indoors was the better idea.

With a slight sigh she turned to start to head off before she spotted the other, someone she hadn't met before.]

Ah, hello. Are you new around here?

[Terra turns towards Elizabeth, putting a practiced polite smile on her lips.]

Ah, yes. I'm a new teacher. I was just looking around the grounds more.

[She loves the forest and lake here. She can feel it teeming with life.]

What are you teacher of, if I may ask?

[Just so she can check if she is meant to be having classes with her or not.]

But... The place is pretty beautiful, isn't it?

Transfiguration.

[She smiles a shy smile and then nods.]

It is beautiful. That's one of the reasons I agreed to come teach here.

[Kairi didn't have much homework left, but as she got to the classroom she figured if the teacher was there she could ask for help. As she reached the door she poked her head in, seeing if they were there.]

Uh, hello. Are you the new teacher?

[There is a soft meow as the cat disappears from Kairi's view, as if responding to Kairi's inquiry while also walking away.

Terra appears a moment later with a calm expression spread across her face. She takes a seat at her desk.]

Yes, how can I help you?

I was just doing my homework and I just wanted some help.

[She thankfully had done most of it really, she just wanted to have it checked and see if she was doing it right as she made her way further into the classroom.]

[Terra smiles and then gestures slightly for Kairi to step closer.]

I can take a look for you if you'd like.

[Fai was already in the classroom before anyone could say anything as he started to look around.]

Nice classroom you have here. What class is this for?

[The cat, sitting on the desk stares at him and then blinks. It doesn't seem to concerned with Fai as if she's unable to make how what he might be looking for. Slowly the cat stands, shaking out it's paws before running up the steps to open the door.]

Can I help you?

[Terra is standing at the top of the steps, pulling the door closed behind her. Her expression is gentle and calm mixed with a little bit of curiousity.]

[He finally saw the other, giving a small wave.]

I thought I would say hello to the new professor. I will admit I was the new one not that long ago and it seems fine.

[he also had nothing better to do right now that classes haven't started yet.]

[Her smile softens slightly.]

It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm still getting used to the grounds.

[Still, it's nice to meet someone else who's new.]

What is it that you'll be teaching?

[He knew that it wasn't long until apparently school starts and he should really try and find some of the professors to try and get a better understanding of the classes. So with a knock of the door he waited for an answer, wondering if they were actually in, or even if there was a professor or this class.]

[Terra moves forward, reaching for the door. It isn't locked and anyone is welcome to come into the classroom.]

Yes?

[Her tone is soft as she opens the door wide enough for the boy to enter. She might be a teacher but she's noticed she is of a similar age to many of the students.]

[It just seemed polite to at least knock first before entering. He smiles slightly for a brief moment.]

Hi, I am meant to be studying so that I am ready before this year apparently starts and I was hoping to get some help.

Of course, please come in.

[He doesn't need to stay by the door. Terra walks over to her desk, taking a seat behind the oak desk.]

What is it that you are working on?

[Flora spent most of her time outside and for good reason. It was full of nature and full of wonder. She loved it. As she walked, she smiled extending her hand when she was close enough to a plant, trying her best to figure it out. It wasn't long before she found herself near the forbidden forest and seeing another there, she felt like she should speak up.]

I hope you aren't planning on going into the forest.

[Terra looks behind her and blinks slightly.]

Why is that?

[She remembers it being off limits but she doesn't really have a sense of danger. She feels as if her own magic protects her though she can't really know now that she's at Hogwart.]

I think it's because of what is within the forest and the fact that those can be dangerous if not deadly.

[That is mostly a guess since she hasn't fully read the book to be sure.]
