Event: Quidditch (Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor)
There's excitement in the air, as per usual.
It's mid-season and everyone is curious how the mid point standings will look after this match. Facing each other today are the houses of the righteous: The chivalrous Gryffindors and the kind Hufflepuffs. Except there's no room for those on the battlefield that is Quidditch, and neither of them is the kind that gives in. How will this match full of determination end? Let's find out.
THE GAME IS POSTPONED
2 hrs, 15 minutes into the game something terrible seemed to happen. Just as the referee's attention was focused on the Chasers heading for the hoop, there's the light of a curse coming from the tribunes and aiming for the Keeper. There are cries from the audience, that make everyone's attention shift, but no one can do anything anymore, it's too late. The curse hits the Keeper dead on and then she's falling, falling deep. After that the field into chaos.
People are tripping over each other, trying to catch a glimpse, worried friends are hurrying towards the green where the Keeper in lying on the ground, where the referee is trying to administer first help, while the teachers are trying to contain the chaos the best they can. No one is allowed to move, but they do anyway. The area from which the curse had been shot has been sealed, witnesses are being questioned. Maybe they can find the culprit this way if it's not too late.
Long story short, it's a big mess. At the end of it, the teams are called together and it's decided with the agreement from the majority of the players that the game will be postponed. This usually isn't the case, as matches continue even when a member is off the field, but the captain of Gryffindor after listening to the options had felt like this was the right decision. Thus, in a gesture of great chivalry, the game is put back to the next week.
[The win was determined by player vote and the rest of the numbers by a RNG. A number between 15 and 300 determined the length of the game in minutes, numbers between 15 and 50 multiplied by 10 the final score, and a throwdown between 1 and 2 who caught the snitch (based on odds/evens, with each team having their assigned number for all the matches).]

[ She sighs hard, shaking her head and flopping back onto the bed to try and turn away from Rin a bit. ]
Fuck... It shouldn't have happened in the first place.

[Rin sighs, crossing his arms.]
Suck it up. You've got a second chance, be glad. Should have, would have, could have... It DID happen. Because these things DO happen. And when they do, we need to make the best of them. Nothing good comes from moaning about them.
[In spite of his words being sorta harsh, they aren't intended to be unapologetic. They are supposed to give her fighting spirit and her will back, because he hates seeing her feeling sorry for herself, or responsible for something she has no control over.]

[ She can't help her frown depending at that, but... Well, it's not like she can really do anything about it right now. ]
A league game would've continued regardless.
no subject
Maybe so.
[However, on the other hand school is supposed to prepare you. Teach you about life, but also about yourself, so in that regard...]
But then again, better you find out about all the dangers and losses now than later, right? Besides, if this was the league, there would have been substitutes. Point is, this ain't the league, so it makes no sense to fret about it. Be thankful for small favors.

It's still frustrating.
[ The words are mumbled, but at once it's a small concession that yes there's nothing she can do about the situation at the moment. Maybe that'll be enough...? ]

[Rin concedes with a chuckle when the expression that is more like a pout than anything else settles on Adela's face. He can relate to frustration, but the good news is that frustration is far easier to deal with than guilt.]
You just have to take that frustration and turn it into effort.
[He says with a grin and ruffles her messy hair.]
Cheer up! Just always do your best and everything will work out.

... Right... There's no guarantee that we'll win the rematch.

[Rin counters with a smirk. Granted, he's first to agree that winning is more fun, more of an achievement, more rewarding and just plain simply better than losing, but ultimately, it didn't matter which you did. It's the effort that counts in the long run.
He chuckles at her frown, not intending to be condescending at all. His only intent is to cheer his sister up.]
Come on, don't give me that look. The match isn't lost yet, the weather is getting warmer and most importantly, you're going to be alright. No reason to look like your entire life went to hell.

[ She knows she's being pretty bratty then, but it's all she can do to try and preserve what little dignity she feels she has left. The fact that she's still completely red-faced is bad enough... ]
Maybe not, but being stuck here for however long is no excuse to let my guard down. You and I both know Gryffindor's a tough team.

[Though, alright, if he was in a hospital bed he wouldn't be laughing much either, Rin concedes with a snort.]
Well, okay, maybe it's a bigger challenge when you're stuck with Madam Pomfrey, but hey. You'll be out of here soon, and that's the important thing.

[ Now she really can't bring herself to tell Rin that she'll most likely be in the hospital wing all week. Still, she can relax a bit now that everything is calmer, and she sighs a little as she sinks more comfortably into the be again. ]
Hey... Visit while I'm stuck in here? If I'm not out that soon that is.

[Rin replies with a grin and lays a hand on Adela's shoulder in a brotherly pat.]
And for real: I'm glad you're okay.

[ Finally she can manage a smile, albeit a weak one but genuine nonetheless. She still feels pretty bad because of the game being cancelled over her and because of worrying everyone, but at least it seems like things will quiet down for a while. ]
... Try to keep Coach from doing anything too crazy? I can't help thinking this hit a little too close to home for him.
