First Clue - Beginnings are important.
Breakfast
[If she were to be brutally honest, Naoto isn't sure what she's doing here. However, very few people would notice her nervousness as she sits, ramrod straight at the Slytherin breakfast table, examining the eggs and bacon that she's been served and eyeing her pumpkin juice a bit warily.
As tiny as she is, she is likely easily mistaken for a younger boy. However, even as standoffish as she seems, she would not mind some company.]
Hallways
[Eventually, she finds her way to the halls, jostled here and there, by the crowds of people walking around. After two wrong turns, she finally walks up to another student, and pulls at the brim of her (uniform-defying) blue hat.]
Excuse me, Senpai, would you be able to tell me how to get to the Transfiguration classroom, please?
Library
[Everything being over for the day, Naoto can be found in the library, books around her, along with a Japanese-English dictionary. Her English is good, but there are just a few words here and there that she's not getting. She's concentrating, but easily interrupted.]

Library
I think this calls for a study session.
no subject
Senpai! I didn't know you were here as well.
[There's an obvious relief on her face, as she turns to him.]
I would very much like to study with you.
no subject
I think being older than you and being in a different 'House' has a lot to do with that.
I think we have quite a lot of catching up to do...
no subject
[She turns thoughtful for a moment, hand to her chin, but shakes her head after a moment.]
Yes, we do. I feel so far behind, and I am not certain where to start.
[It's worse, somehow, that starting at Yasogami. There's not only a culture difference from what she is used to, there is a subject matter difference as well.]
no subject
Have you already tried spells?
no subject
[She can do arrogant, but definitely not evil.]
I have tried a couple. It seems that I can make things float decently well, but that is about it right now.
no subject
[Yu takes out the wand he had received and use his magic to light it up.]
I can do this.
no subject
[She makes a face, but smiles at the wandlight]
Well, that is certainly useful. I have read there is a spell that opens locks.
[Why, yes, that is a sneaky face on the tiny detective.]
It could prove to be useful.
[She pulls her own wand out, a dark cherry wood that is fairly long for her tiny size.]
Hopefully some study and practice will be helpful.
no subject
[Naoto please.]
Practice makes perfect.
no subject
[She turns a bit pink in the cheeks. Whoops.]
It will certainly be an adventure.
[She's also excited that she gets to ride a broom.]
Hallways
Adela blinks at the boy(?) she's run into, clearly a little thrown off by the term but not letting it bother her for too long. That question is enough for her to assume that this person is at least new here. They're short too... But it looks like they're a little taller. An inch at most. Damn.
Not what she's supposed to be doing then and there.
After a moment she nods, putting on a smile and turning to face the other fully. ]
Sure, but I need to know which one you're headed to first. There are four, and they're all far enough apart that heading to the wrong one'll make you late.
[[OoC: Going to ask real quick here, what year is Naoto? Adela's in 5th, so if push comes to shove we can send them to the same class if they're in the same year. ]]
Re: Hallways
I think that is my problem, actually. I am looking for the fifth year class, and the first one I came across was a first year room, I believe.
[She shakes her head, embarrassed.]
I am usually not this poor at finding things.
Hallways
[ It's not hard to sympathise with the other, and it doesn't take her long to start heading self-assuredly towards the 5th year class. ]
no subject
[She pulls on the brim of her hat with a small smile.]
I am Naoto Shirogane.
no subject
[ She holds out her hand for the other to shake, expression brightening from there. ]
Word of advice? The professor's pretty strict and kind of scary. He's a former Auror though so he definitely knows what he's talking about, so it's worth asking him about anything that you might need help with.
no subject
[Naoto shakes her hand, but also bows, arms at her sides.]
Auror? I'm not aware of all of the terminology here.
[She pauses, a small smile on her face.]
There are very few things that intimidate me, and my grandfather has been quite strict with me. I will likely be alright.
no subject
And I hope for your sake you're right, Professor Ackerman is probably one of the strictest professors we have right now -- the other being Professor Daphne for History of Magic. I heard she's also a former auror, so that might just be how they are...
no subject
[She falls silent for a moment, thinking. That sounds fantastic, if she were to be honest. If she's thrust into this world, she's going to make the best of it and use all of her skills.]
Possibly. Many detectives and law enforcement tend to be fairly rigid. Unless they're imbeciles, and then it's all up in the air.
no subject
[ Adela can't help laughing a little, shaking her head as they start coming up on the classroom in question. ]
Well, we're here. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to help out, all right Naoto?
Hallways
That depends on which year you're in.
