Potions (Any year)

[Aidou had been a teacher since the start of the term. He still didn't quite get it why he had been sent to this world, but he had managed to adapt and make up a background story for himself. The biggest problem was that he still hadn't made his bloodtablets good enough... which he would have liked to focus on instead of classes.

Well, nothing says he needed to be in the classroom...]

The rest of the lesson is now going to be self-taught. I stayed up all night working on these classes, so I need to take a quick nap... I'll be back by the end of it to see how you did.

[In other words: figure things out yourselves. Of course he can be called from the backroom, where he is either napping or really working on those bloodtablet recipes. Especially any explosions would alert him.

And yes, he intends to leave even the 6th-7th year students by themselves with the advanced potions.]

Outside classes (wild card option)

[Aidou is usually seen patrolling around the dungeons whenever he needs to be. Sometimes, he does leave the dungeons (to eat and to visit the teachers' lounge) but mostly he's very secretive and not very visible in any way.]

[Rin grits his teeth, when he realizes the professor heard him. Damn the jerk has some really good ears, ain't he. He's tempted. He's very tempted to tell him how irresponsible it is for a teacher to just up and leave class, but he bites his tongue.

You don't need another detention. Or scoring bad points on the subject you need for NEWTs, Matsuoka, he tells himself and takes a deep breath.]

Nothing professor. My thoughts must have trailed.

[Which is something the previous professor would have kicked him out of class for, but if this one insists not even being here, he has no right to kick him out either. If Rin really had been distracted -which he never is, not since last year and the professor would have been gone, it could have ended ugly. And it would have been the professor's fault, because he had been too lazy to supervise. So there. Deal with that.

A sprinkle of Wolfsbane flies off the board, from how viciously Rin cuts it.]

[He has a feeling this student in particular would be negative against him... but it's not like he cares. He's not here to make friends or anything. He's just waiting for a solution that lets him go home.

He glances at the wolfsbane flying.]

You will remain in the classroom and clean all the stations, after the lessons, since you seem to be so keen on messing the floor.

[He's about to leave when one of the cauldrons makes a beautiful firey breathe upwards that it wasn't supposed.]

... make sure Yamazaki helps you out. I'll be back to grade your potions by the end of the class.

[He doesn't even need to look who it was to be right so he just marches into the backroom.]

[Rin experiences a sudden rush of fiery heat. A heat that he's pretty sure everyone can see, by it's intensity. A heat that tells him that turning around and throwing the knife he's holding would be so very easy. The urge to kill is a strong, burning need inside of him.]

That's. it.

[He seethes and clutches the knife hard enough for his hand to spasm.]

We'll need a new potions master. Azkaban is totally worth it.

[Sousuke hurries to hold the hand Rin holds the knife in - leaving his cauldron burn brightly and covering the scene of Rin's murderous intent.]

Easy there. It's definitely not worth it.

It's 100% worth it. I'll be doing it for the future generations.

[He's trembling in his anger. How dare that half assed wannabe barely teacher make HIM clean the class like a 3rd rate student?!]

Let me go. I'm killing him. I mean it.

[Let him try to disarm Rin, at least.]

Calm the fuck down or I'll have to knock you out.

[It's a tragedy, but no matter how strong Rin's determination is, in terms of muscle power, Sousuke outmatches him. So eventually the knife lands in the safety of Sousuke's hands, but not without a scalding hot look from Rin, after Sousuke threatens to knock him out. Et tu, Sousuke?]

Fine. But don't complain when you mop the floor.

[Rin grumbles and throws the Wolfsbane into the Potion, barely resisting the urge to just swipe all of it in in one go. But that would get him a bad grade. He doesn't want a bad grade, he reminds himself. Or more life chants it like a mantra in his head.]

Seriously, what's his problem? Not like anyone forced him to teach Potions.

I wouldn't, when I know I deserve it.

[Sousuke turns back to actually... deal with the fire. How did he manage to make such a spectacle, even he's not sure, but at least it's drawing attention to him and not Rin.]

He may have his reasons. All we need to do is hang in there and deal with his quirks... I'm sure there are a lot of guys like him in the Aurors too.

[Rin sighs as he watches Sousuke put out the fire. Seriously, how by Merlin's beard does his best friend even do this? He shakes his head, expression darkening, when the topic is back at Aidou. And yes, Rin gets there are assholes everywhere and that not every auror he'll train with will be a hero, or a saint. But that's not his point.]

Well, they don't have to teach Potions. H picked this job, he's supposed to do it properly.

Who knows, maybe he didn't have a choice either. World works in weird ways. [Sure, the headmistress didn't force anyone to do a job, but there might be other factors.] Doesn't make it okay for him to act like that, of course but--

[In the middle of putting out the fire, somehow Sousuke manages to make the fire blue.]

[Rin's rant gets interrupted by the sudden development in th cauldron next to his.]

Oh for Merlin's sake! How?

[Rin will never stop wondering that. Meanwhile the part of his brain that's not busy asking himself that question, is trying to desperately remember what blue fire means, how it's caused and more importantly how to put it out. He doesn't remember anything froom what he's read.]

Okay, just forget the potion and empty your cauldron, because this is not supposed to be even possible.

[Luckily it's just different colored fire that's easy to put out and not some weird magical fire that needed strict procedures.]

What can I say. I'm a genius in a way.

[Genius of messing up in ways he shouldn't be able to, to be precise... but he does go empty the cauldron and clean it up. Better to start all over again, if he has time.]

Yeah, too bad you won't get an award for it.

[Rin sighs for what feels like the thousandth time and watches as Sousuke preps to start anew. Rin's is halfway done and it's mostly stirring and waiting for now.]

Come on, you hopeless case. I'll help you out.

[At least he didn't make his cauldron explode. That's what happened last year, so it's an improvement...??]

... thanks. I wouldn't want to be told to do extra lessons with this teacher.
