Notice boards

[Once all the festivities and ghosts are over and done with, a notice appears on all the notice boards.]

A Dueling Club is about to begin, hosted by Levi Ackerman
- The purpose is to give the kids students a chance to learn how to use spells in battles.
- Anyone is welcome to join, if they feel like they're ready.
- No one will be put against an opponent too strong.
- No one is allowed to use too dangerous spells on others with the intent of permanently hurting someone.
- Anyone who breaks the rules will be thrown out and put in detention.
- Madam Pomfrey will be prepared to heal smaller injuries, however.

Sign ups on the sheet next to this one.
First meetings start on Monday, November 7th

[More information can be asked from Levi himself. He'll be most likely cleaning or watching the hallways.]

[ There's ... One thing, that catches Mikasa's attention more than anything else on the notice. She keeps staring at her own last name on it for a long moment. What? She doesn't have any relatives... Not that she knows of anyway. She doesn't even look surprised, she is just narrowing her eyes more and more as if that notice might set on fire anytime soon.

And then she doesn't even sign up for it. Not for now. She has a more important thing to do but she's going to be on that club. Instead she turns around and goes to find...

... the midget. That's what Levi looks like once Mikasa finds him. ]

Who the hell are you?

[ Well, that's polite. And anyone else can certainly run into her before she finds him or be around to hear this. ]

[There's the Ackerman girl he had been meaning to talk to. It was just easier to have her approach him, rather than the other way around.]

I have a reason to believe I'm your uncle. Of course, confirming that now is a bit difficult, but it's a plausible explanation.

[Straight to the point? Straight to the point.]

[ ... What the hell is this midget talking about? Also she could have just avoided him, but no, here she is. ]

I don't have any relatives.

[ Good luck confirming it, good thing magic is probably far more trustworthy in this stuff than muggle things. ]

[Levi sighs.]

I was going to ask Madam Pomfrey if there was a way of confirming it with a medical spell... but I would need your co-operation for it.

[Which, with this attitude, doesn't seem that likely.]

[ Well she could give him a cold shoulder / back and say absolutely, no fucking hell or something similar to that, but... ]

Fine, let's do it.

[ She only has her faith in humanity or something about sudden hope of a real family to lose, no big deal right? ]

[Best. Thing. EVER. Rin has his quill out the second he stops reading the notice. This. He could have used this so much last year before OWLs. It would have made learning the Patronus a thousand times easier. He had managed in the end, thanks to Seth, he realizes with a sense of nostalgia, but practicing in a simulated combat situation is just so much better than against a wall. Still not the real thing, but at least there's something that fires back. And the teacher is and actual former Auror. One of the best ones in the country. Rin's heart is singing.] Perfect.

[The notice catches Shiraishi's attention. A duel club, huh? Not really what he'd sign up for as a first thought. It does seem rather useful for future and practical exams... but at least for now he's leaving without signing up.]

[ Weiss sees the notice. She also sees Shiraishi being about to leave without doing anything about it, though she doesn't look away from the Dueling Club notice. ]

Stop right there.

[Oh, great. Just who he needed to hear from right now. He does stop though, just to say something.]

I think you told me to stay out of your sight, Weiss.

[ What? It actually works? ]

And it's why I've been ignoring you, but it also means I can change my mind anytime.

[He doesn't want to be completely rude to someone he was engaged with so he can at least listen.]

Well, it doesn't change the fact that I'm fine with being ignored and out of your sight.

And before you tell me to join the club, the answer is no.

[ What a gentleman! Though Weiss would understand why he'd be rude to her ... and she's always rude to everyone, so there's that too. ]

And most of the time I'm completely fine by us both doing that.

What? No, I'm not telling you to join it. [Suddenly even more serious.] I'm demanding you to join it.

[ Same thing, different word. Yes, she is going to force him to duel with her there, glad it's clear to him too without her needing to say it. ]

Those are the same thing.

[Shiraishi sighs and then turns properly to look at Weiss instead of looking behind his shoulder.]

Why? Are you still that mad at me?

Yeah except when I demand something, you have no options.

[ Except when she tells someone to do something, they don't really have options either. ]

I wouldn't waste my time or breath on being mad at someone, who is mostly air to me.

[ So.... She is still mad. ]

[Definitely still mad. Shiraishi's still salty too, so this works great.]
