09th Bite is O.W.L.s
A) About a week before exams (backloged)
[It's a weeks before OWLs and Rin still hasn't the corporeal Patronus down. The DADA OWLs are in the first week already so this is something he's got to master. Think of something happy, he keeps telling himself. Think of your sister, or quidditch, of your friends, of Seth. But nothing seems to work. He'd be worried by the fact, that he can't think of a single memory of great happiness in his life, if he wasn't so busy being annoyed by his inability.]
Damnit!!!
[When he's not somewhere outside working on his patronus, he's either in the library, or in the common room, spending every single minute learning, writing essays, or otherwise preparing himself. He's caught up with everything, so he's not all that worried - maybe a little nervous... A LITTLE - but he's never been one to be idle. Besides, the more reviewing he can get in, the better. He's going for straight Outstandings.]
B) Exam week 1 (pick a date, or use the current one)
(06.-08. 06.)
[The hardest one on the first three days are Transfiguration and Herbology. Transfiguration, because the subject is challenging, but still interesting and one of Rin's favorites, and Herbology, because Rin and plants, that can kill you is not a good combination. He's tired.]

[Rin breathes deeply through his nose, as he waits with the other to be let into the examination room. He's got this. He's totally got this. He learned and trained like mad. He knows all the theory, and he practiced the spells until his hands were falling off. He knows he knows it. And he is NOT nervous, his stomach is NOT doing circus-worthy acrobatics, and he is DEFINITELY NOT trembling ever so slightly. He's the epitome of cool. He is the BOSS. He'll totally RULE THIS ONE.]

[Finally Friday. He's got the weekend to prepare himself and the last hurdle to master are Ancient Runes. Which are fine. They make sense. Except when he drops his guard down and confuses them, which he hopes won't happen. Needless to say, he's doing some last minute reviewing to busy himself.]

Corporeal Patronus. I want the bonus points on DADA, and it will raise my chances of being accepted for Auror training.
[If only I could come up with a happy memory, he adds in his mind.]

[Not that she should talk really, she managed to do her Patronus in her fifth year, but she had her reasons that she had to.]
Think about it this way. O.W.L's are the basis of what you can do for the final two years, not what they look at when they are looking for Auror's. They look at your N.E.W.T levels. They might not even look at the spells you can do since you could get better help during training, so it's not something to stress over unless you think a dementor is going to attack you during the next few years.

[Rin replies courtly. He knows all that. Te whole purpose off bonus points is that they're bonus, but he still wants them. He wants full points plus the bonus points. He wants to know he can do it and be the best he can be. So what if he's still got two years. That's the future. Now is now. For her to say that is like... totally useless and not solving his problem.]
I don't care what they look, or don't look into. I'm not doing this for anyone but myself. I want to do it and know I CAN.
[He is, after all, an ambitious Slytherin.]
B) 10.06
Adela sighs heavily as she drags herself into the library, her head swimming with all of her other subjects and with trying to make sure a certain other Rin stays above water grades wise as well. At least most of her tests are done...
That's when she spots the other red head, and without prompt she seats herself at the same table with a short greeting. ]

[ She looks over at him briefly, then down at the runes... ]
... I feel like I should've known you've taken runes as an elective as well.

[He mumbles in reply, then looks at the nearby clock. Only a few more hours.]
I thought it might be a challenging enough subject, to qualify me for Auror trials.
[He sighs, then looks back at his textbook.]
Along with Magical creatures and Arithmancy.
[Sometimes he really wishes he'd be less ambitious.]

[ It's mildly surprising to her, though at least it's nothing too crazy. She finally sits up a little more, stretching her arms above her head. ]
... I'm actually a little sad that it's ending. I mean, there were times when classes and such were tough, but... I almost don't want to go home for the holiday, you know?

Yeah I took three electives.
[He growls, because he's not backing down and okay, it might be dumb, but he's doing it, and he's gonna be awesome while he does it.]
And I intend to keep all of them. I plan to drop some of the core classes next year, though.
[Like Astronomy, Herbology and History of Magic, his three headaches. Which, however, doesn't mean he doesn't intend to ace them. He gives her a bit of a deadpan look at the last part, because that? He definitely can't agree with that. Going home is great! Going home is Lori's food and playing ball with Russel, it's seeing his sister again, finally, it's cuddling with Winnie, their dog, and Sousuke is actually going to spend some time at his place this summer, and maybe Seth will come as well, and NO EXAMS for two months, and beach and waves and ocean... She must seriously hate her own home, if she's not looking towards it.]

Yanno... Sousuke is coming over to stay at my place for a part of the summer. You're welcome to visit as well. I already invited Seth, and Lori knows there'll be people coming, so one more doesn't matter and you can meet my sister. Ah, if you want to.

[ Unfortunately she's only partially joking, she'd rather not test her dad that way. Still, the thought of visiting Rin is a nice one. It does prompt a smile from her, and she nods to him. ]

[It would be harder to arrange, but nowadays it's not such a problem to arrange a portkey, and the extended floo powder network works fairly well. He probably could make Italy in two hours or so.]
