Library

[If you visit the library frequently, you might remember Taichi sitting there and studying. His table is usually filled with books and parchments and he isn't paying attention to anything else. If the library gets too noisy, he might get up and threaten noisemakers with a curse (even if he's never done anything, since he doesn't want to get a bad reputation with the teachers).

Today is the same as ever and Taichi is focused on writing different essays and reading books to make sure he has every detail down on his writings - even those that weren't mentioned on the lessons.

He doesn't take bothering him very well, unless it's important.]

Courtyard

[When Taichi isn't studying, he may be found from the courtyard, practicing spells. Most of them are usually rather basic, but today he's trying to accomplish the Patronus spell. Unfortunately, that's one spell he's had hard time practicing ever since he started on it. He knows the theories behind the spell and how it's supposed to work, but he just can't make it work.

It's very frustrating.]

[ Usually, Tokiya would be one to mind his own business and keep his nose out of others'. However, Taichi is a worthy rival, so it does make him pause when he passes the other fiddling with something in the courtyard.

Said something seems to be his wand. Trying out a new spell. ]

I didn't know this was in the practical.

[ It isn't, but it's his way of saying hi. ]

[Taichi stops his practice at the sound of Tokiya's voice. Good place as any for a break. He had been at this for a while, after all. Besides, showing even more of such poor results in front of a rival wasn't his thing.]

You know it's not. I was just curious to see if I could pull it off.

[Part of it might have been due to his mother expecting to see wonderful results back at home, but it was also his own curiosity driving him.]

[ It's not unreasonable. After all, the Patronus charm is something requiring great effort. ]

The professor would be impressed by it, yes.

[ He debates for a moment whether to try doing it himself, but decides against it for now. ]

That may be. Not that I do this just for that.

[It would certainly be a hit on Taichi's ego if Tokiya succeeded and he didn't. Though who knows how it would go.]

[Again, it’s one of those rare occasions that Yogi choses to visit the library, this time to study a little transfiguration, because sad as it might be, he needs to. However it seems to be the worst time he could have chosen, as every table seems to be occupied by several people. But then he notices one, where his occasional classmate from Ravenclaw is sitting and he grins broadly, approaching him.]

Hi! Is this seat free? There’s no space anywhere else.

[He doesn’t wait for an answer and sits down, glancing over to what the other is doing.]

Waah… Looks complicated! More than my Transfiguration homework and that’s already hard enough. [He chuckles, communicative as always.] What are you reading about?

[Oh god, why Yogi of all the students that could have sat there. Taichi cringed almost visibly. On top of Tamaki stalking him from time to time this week he just had to get the other annoying Hufflepuff bothering him as well.]

Arithmancy. [He says with a calm tone. Even if he is annoyed, the minute he shows it the minute he loses all his concentration.] Why are you having trouble with Transfiguration?

Whoaaaa, Arithmancy!

[Yogi inches away like the mere subject should hurt him. Honestly, it probably would.]

I couldn't do that honestly. Divination is much, much easier and more intuitive!

[At the question a surprised look settle on his face, because 'why'?]

It's so hard this year! I can't make heads and tails of half of the things Professor Branford is saying. You're so lucky being smart~

Well, if you're having trouble with Transfiguration, it's better if you stick with Divination...

[That also meant less lessons together with Yogi. He didn't want to imagine sitting in the same Arithmancy class and being bombarded with questions.]

Why not ask Tamaki to teach you? His grades are top class.

[They were practically like twins anyway.]

He does!

[Yogi says, clapping his hands together.]

We lern together, sometimes. It's more fun that way and Tamaki is really goood at explaining~ I'm knitting him a scarf, as a thank you present and a Valentine's friends present. Ah, do you want one as well? I will keep you warm and comfy, when you're hunched over books!

[... now he regrets mentioning Tamaki. Why is having a normal conversation so difficult.]

I don't need one, but thanks for the thought.

Okay…

[Yogi says and turn to his homework, before something occurring to him again.]

Ah, but maybe as a gift for a special someone, or a friend? Valentine’s coming up after all! I’m sure they’d be happy about something hand made. I got lots of yarn and fabric, so you can request any color, as well.

... I don't have anyone like that.

[Yogi please. Does he look like he has someone special or even a close friend like that?]

Everyone has a special someone!

[Yogi exclaims, then realizes, Taichi might have misunderstood him.]

Ah, they don't have to be your girlfriend, or boyfriend! They could be your best friend, or someone you admire, someone who is special to you. For example, my special someone's include Gareki, Tamaki, or Shizuma. Oh and you too. You don't have to say who it is, but I'm sure there's someone who has a special place in your heart. You just don't know it yet!

.... I'll have to repeat myself for not having someone like that.

[At least not here. He's friends with Reiji and Shizuma, and rivals with Tokiya, but he can't call any of the three "special".]

[Yogi chuckles. Taichi is sorta cute with how stubborn he is. Yogi is sure there is someone, Taichi just doesn't realize it, or doesn't know what 'special' means. He doesn't argue however further with his friend, just smiles.]

You're adorable, Taichi.

[Namine hears the name of the spell spoken aloud as he practices which brings her towards the courtyard. She watches for a moment expecting to at least see the familiar thin wisps from his wand tip. That's all she's ever managed when using the patronus charm.]

What thought are you thinking of?

[She asks lightly stepping into view.]

[Taichi looks over at Namine, pausing his practice for a moment.]

The wrong thoughts, apparently.

What do you mean?

[She doesn't understand.]

A patronus is meant to come when you focus on happy thoughts, right? It would seem the thoughts I think are happy are not enough.

Well... we just need to think of happier thoughts.

[She'd help if she could but she doesn't know how.]
