4th Cute Thing Action in Great Hall and Gryffindor Common Room

[Lizzie knew what today was. It was a day for celebration in her mind and she managed to pull out all the stops when it came to decorating the Great Hall table and the common room with streamers and balloons all of which state Happy Birthday. Whenever she saw someone she went over to them with a wide grin on her face.]

I'm sure you are wondering what is going on. It's my fiances birthday today and I'm wishing him a happy birthday. I was hoping that when he comes you'll help in saying that to him?

[When she met met as many people as possible she went on the search of the birthday boy in question. All she had left to do was pretty much show him all the work she did for him and also to give him his present.]

[And here comes the unsuspecting birthday boy. Did he remember that it was his birthday or did he just not care..? Judging from his reaction, it's obvious that he just forgot. Here he was just going to look for a few books in the library and suddenly he was greeted with streamers and happy birthday balloons.]

Oh my.... [S I G H . . . ] That girl.... she didn't have to....

[Looking to a bigger balloon...]

Is it really that time already....?

[Okay... He gets that Lizzie did something nice for him and that he should be grateful. He is... he's just... Birthdays aren't exactly a happy time for him since that particular day. He just... wasn't really good with so many people coming up to him randomly to tell him Happy Birthday. It was a nice gesture, just one that was getting annoying by now.

He was just sitting at the Great Hall table, trying to ignore the streamers everywhere while he attempted to concentrate on some studying and research. Rereading the same page for what it seemed like 5 times, he finally gave up and sighed.

'.... I'll read you whatever story you'd like. Today is a treat after all'

That line came back in mind as he cringed slightly to the memory. That was... something that would stick with him wouldn't it? Looking to the book he had open, he slammed it shut in disgust.]

Happy birthday to me huh...? What exactly makes it so happy though...?

[The moment she clamped eyes on him she was already running toward him and giving the birthday boy a big old Lizzie hug. It might be a while before she actually lest go though.]

Happy Birthday, Ciel~

[He should be used to these hugs by now... He barely managed to keep himself up straight with both of them.]

Lizzie, you didn't have to.

[She smiled happily, she wanted to and well as Ciel knows she tends to do thing even if he says not to once she got her mind on it.]

But I wanted to of course. You're a year older and the same age as me now. Until my birthday of course.

My birthday.... isn't really that important...

[But she did go through the trouble....]

.... but I appreciate the thought.

But it is, at least to me anyway.

[She didn't feel like she needed to explain why exactly though, she just did because it was about him.]

But sadly, I can't ask for a change in food, so we have to make do.

[That does get a small little smile from him for a moment.]

[Her grin widened suddenly. She saw that and now she is extremely happy to see even the tiny hint of a smile.]

Your welcome. I'm glad I could help.

[She went and held his hand, making sure he was at the right part of the table.]

Sit down, okay?

Alright.

[He'll just follow her orders for now. If it made her that happy, he'll just go along with it. Taking a seat where she told him to...]

[She moved and sat down next to him. In front was a huge table full of food, however it seemed a tiny bit different than before.]

I asked the workers in the kitchen to cook something different. They didn't know what it was exactly, but they tried and this is the end result.

[She paused.]

Although I still cannot get tea.

[Lizzie.... She was too good for him. He didn't deserve this kind of treatment and no matter how much he just wanted to hate the world and everyone in it, Lizzie always left a soft spot for him. He couldn't help that small chuckle as he patted the seat next to him.]

What? Do you think I was just going to eat alone?

[Her smile brightened a little bit as she had gone to sit down next to him. It was nice having the time together like they could when not in classes at least. It was a shame they were in different years after all.]

Is there a drink you would like Ciel~? Because like I said there isn't any fancy tea, but there is other things?

[With arranged marriages from childhood not being the norm in Kirigiri's world, Lizzie looked awfully young to be engaged already. How long was this engagement? Could students marry while in school? She didn't look like a senior close to graduation, or perhaps her appearance was just deceptive.]

Uh- alright. How do I identify him?

Well he's about this tall.

[She lowers her hand from her own height, she still was a little sad that he didn't really grow an awful lot and that meant she would have to continue to wear low heeled shoes, but all in all she didn't really care. It was just a shame really.]

He was beautiful blue eyes and always wears an eye patch.

[That's..... not very tall. What sort of young couple gets engaged while looking like they still belonged in middle school?

Lizzie's mention of the eyepatch sparks some recognition- Kirigiri does know of a small-looking boy with an eyepatch, who joined her in annoyed disbelief at broomstick lessons. She nods thoughtfully at the description.]

Oh, I think I've seen him around. I'll wish him a happy birthday.

[She hasn't confirmed if he's a first-year or just new to this place- she's thinking it's the latter, since eleven-year-olds don't get engaged often where she comes from, but she could find out here.

Kirigiri is aware the question could be really weird, so she puts more care into sounding friendly than usual (which is no care. She usually does not care.)]

He's your fiance? Congratulations on the match- how long is the engagement expected to go on for?

[It was a question she never actually expected to answer, she just figured sooner or later or at least until they were old enough. Or in Ciel's case it might be a never.]

I believe when we are considered adults it will happen. But this has been something that had been decided since we were both very young.

[Only now does it occur to Kirigiri that it could be an arranged marraige. She didn't realize it was still a tradition here- or maybe they came from somewhere else like she did. Who knew. At any rate, she nods slightly in understanding.]

You're a very considerate fiance, he must be lucky to have you.

I wouldn't say lucky, I think I am more lucky.

[Even though he had changed due to an incident and that she was trying her hardest to help him even when she felt like she hadn't... She wasn't sure when and if he would ever smile, but she still tried.]

I'm lucky that he is still alive even when he went missing.

[Missing?

Blame the old detective senses, but that definitely got her attention. It was none of her business, but it was also really hard to keep away the curiosity. It was mostly a morbid sort of intellectual curiosity, but she did her best to sound suitably concerned instead.]

Missing? That sounds terrible.

It was, but he came back and that is all that matters.

[And she was happy about that, more than anything in the world. Even if he had changed a lot and that made her sad.]

And here he isn't missing at least, which is always wonderful.

[Oops, dead end. It strikes her that it's socially awkward to press on, and since it's not that crucial to get the information Kirigiri decides to back down today.]

Mmm, it's good that he's well-protected here. Well, other than the recent monster incident......

[That issue however, she has not let up on. Oops, brought it up randomly in another conversation again, but it's really been on her mind.]

Ah, yes. That was a scary time.

[She didn't even have her sword on her at the time, otherwise she would have been able to handle herself.]

Did anyone ever figure out what caused that?

[At least she isn't the only one in the dark about this.]

I don't know if they did. I hope something's been done, at least.

Do you think your fiance is the only one people might target in the school? I hope that wasn't why the incident happened, but...

[It does raise a possibly as to why someone might want to go after the school. The incident had not made headlines in the newspapers, so it couldn't have been to cause terror, but at the mention of a student who had once been kidnapped for whatever......

Hmm. She could be overthinking.]

I'm sure our security is fine enough to keep us all safe.

[More of a formality than anything, but right now probably isn't the best time to discuss this.]

[She kept her arms close to her person, her hands gripping lightly. The thought that it could be a reason never crossed her mind for reasons. But she wasn't sure if she wasn't to say something like that out loud.]

I hope it wasn't, but if it was... You would think they would tell someone.

[She looked over slightly, a small frown forming on her face.]

I do hope the security has improved never the less.

[Exactly. Why didn't they tell anyone? Kirigiri had no response to give other than a shrug- she knew as little as Lizzie did. Maybe a little more, but not by much.]

It's good to keep on guard nonetheless.

[Alright, enough time in conspiracy-theory-land, Kirigiri! She visibly shook off the topic and moved back to happier waters.]

Ah, will there be a party for your fiance at any point?

[She nodded slightly. Sure having a wand her the best defence around here but she always made sure to keep a sword close by as well.]

I am trying to throw one, but it's not easy to get people from different houses together.

[~~She didn't peg Ciel as someone who made a lot of friends....~~ but okay.]

Maybe just a small in-House party if you can't arrange a bigger one?

I didn't expect your fiance to be one who appreciated festivities.

He isn't.

[She is... honest at least.]

But I do this because I'm hoping he would still appreciate it regardless and maybe smile..

He might appreciate it more if it's a small party.

[It takes a recluse to know one.]

He seems like the sort to get more comfortable like at, at least.

I guess... [Yet she knew he had to sometimes go to big parties and had been perfectly fine. It was the same thing right?]

I'll try that next time, but right now...I set everything up already.
