The 15th - Learning Curve

A. Empty Classroom

[ It's the weekend, and sometimes students use empty classrooms to practice spells when they're studying. Among this number is Adela, and although she's been trusted to do so unsupervised in the past... Perhaps today isn't a good day to let her practice alone.

A loud bang sets off, almost as if something has exploded. It's followed immediately by a yelp and quite a bit of crashing. Looking in the classroom reveals a scorch mark on the wall, and on the opposite side of the room is a pile of desks and benches... And a teenage girl buried beneath said pile. The pained groan is a sign that she's still conscious at least, though perhaps a little worse for wear. It might be a good idea to help her get out from under there, on that note. ]

Ow... Bollocks, thought I had it...

B. Hospital Wing

[ Well, this is embarrassing. After that little explosion from trying to perfect a certain charm, she apparently has a concussion and needs to stay in there for a while. It means she's going to be missing dinner in the great hall and might even be forced to stay the night.

With a heavy sigh, Adela just sets her wand on the table beside the bed and pulls out her Defence Against the Dark Arts text. Maybe there's something she missed when it came to reading up on that charm, and that's how she went wrong? Or it was her bloody wand again. Even if she's used to it backfiring though, that was the most violent one in a while...

... God it's hard to focus. Adela's frowning, straining with how her head is hurting as she just keeps trying to read, though she's not sure of how much she's going to absorb. Maybe she should leave it for the next day, but at the same time she wants to get it right as soon as she can. And that means continuing to try and find just what she did wrong. ]
